fall 2012 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Not all counties in WV are this bad, but many areas are. Someone asked me how do we change this. When building a wall, you place one stone at a time. This may take generations, but you start with the children. It is with great joy that I can say the 1st home has been funded, and the construction is being completed. I have witnessed many miracles along the way, and watching this home being raised is full of miracles to be told. Boys are waiting to find refuge here. The design was carefully thought out for the safety and wellbeing of the children, and for the Houseparents that will reside and work here. The Carpenters Shop is designed to teach the boys and staff wood working skills that they can carry in life, and to help further future construction needs on the Ranch. The Woods General Store will be our food storage facility that will enable the Ranch to store bulk foods, and keep the operational costs associated with feeding many children relatively low. 20% of the profit will be given to Trinity Christian School, Teen Challenge, and the WVU Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Other ministries will be added as the store is established. Ranch community store Clean out your garage, cabinets, closets, basement, and attic, and help Chestnut Mountain Ranch move forward. All proceeds will stay in Morgantown to help the Ranch and other non-profit organizations. The Ranch Community Store is located at 255 Don Knotts Blvd, just ½ mile south from the Waterfront Place Hotel. To schedule a pick up email Kevin at ranchstore@chestnutmountainranch.org or call the Ranch 304-241-1709. We will also have drop off locations. IBEW #596 comes to our aid... When the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers heard about the Ranch, their hearts were stirred to get involved. They jumped in with both feet, and donated many hours to get the electrical needs completed in first boys home. THANK YOU IBEW #596! k n a th you! People have asked me why we do all these events….golf, dinners, mud runs? It is simple, to reach more children. I would stick my head in a garbage can if it meant helping a child. The need is real in West Virginia, and there are stats and recent news stories to prove it. This is our calling. It is why people like Coach Nehlen carves out time each year to host the Don Nehlen Golf Classic. May 17, 2013 at the Pines Country Club mark your calendar! Isaac earned a 4.0 his first nine weeks of high school and is getting along terrifically with teachers, peers, and his swim team. Thanks be to God and His hands at the Ranch.” - Paul
