2016 summer program guide - YMCA of Greater Long Beach
THERE IS A “Y” IN EVERY FAMILY 2016 SUMMER PROGRAM GUIDE LAKEWOOD FAMILY YMCA HELLO & WELCOME! Thank you for choosing the Lakewood Family YMCA for your personal and family needs. At the Y, you will have the opportunity to make friends, have fun, get active and discover who you are and what you can achieve. Our activities, which range from youth and adult sports, summer day camps, gymnastics, active older adults and much more, will give you the opportunity to have a healthier, happier tomorrow. Often members tell me that once engaged as a Y member, the benefits of belonging to the Y far exceed the initial reasons for joining. By focusing on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, we’re working to improve the quality of life for everyone in the City of Lakewood and surrounding communities. We’re making sure children and teens have the assets and support they need to reach their full potential. We’re teaming up with organizational partners to help our community overcome obstacles such as obesity and chronic disease while providing individuals and families the programs, services and resources they need to improve their physical, mental, and spiritual health. The Y is powered by volunteers who serve on our board and donate professional services. Adults who can give back are a true gift for our Y and the community’s future. If you have the ability to give or want to help raise money to fund Y programs or support participation for children and families, please let our staff connect you to others who also want to make a difference. As a new member, we have given you a guest pass to invite your family and friends to join you in building healthy habits – be sure to invite them right away so they too can enjoy all our Y has to offer! Please ask any of our staff members to provide you with information that will help you get started with our Y. Whether its physical fitness programs for adults or kids, swimming and water aerobics, gymnastics, before and after school enrichment programs, yoga or a rewarding volunteer opportunity, we’re certain that you will find that the Lakewood Family YMCA has something you and your family can enjoy. We welcome you to our Y, Emilio Sosa Sr. Executive Director Lakewood Family YMCA 2 2 MEMBERSHIP Adult and Family Membership Memberships Payment & Fee information The YMCA is a membership organization open to all people.
