April 3, 2011 Fourth Sunday of lent Easter Decorations: Behind The Scenes The Cathedral 2699 Peachtree Road, NE Atlanta, Georgia 30305 404-233-2145 www.cathedralofchristtheking.org WHAT’S INSIDE: Prayers Page 2 King’s Camp Page 3 Teen Ministry Page 4 CKS Gala 2011 Page 5 Prayer Breakfast Page 6 Operation Rice Bowl Page 7 Hispanic Pages Pages 8-9 Did you know that the Cathedral Flower Guild decorates the Hyland Center gym, Kenny Hall and the Cathedral for the Easter Masses? Most parishioners don’t get to see all the Easter decorations because they see only the decorations in the location where they attend Easter Mass. For example, last year approximately 2,100 people attended the three Easter Masses in the Hyland Center, 700 in the three Masses held in Kenny Hall, and 5,400 in the nine Masses held in the Cathedral. That’s a total of 8,200 people who attended our Easter Masses in 2010. Your donations to the Easter Flowers provide the needed Hyland Center funds to have Easter flowers in all three of our spaces where Easter Mass is celebrated. If you would like to donate to the Easter Flowers while remembering a friend or loved one, simply fill out the “Donate to the Easter Flowers” card (available in the pew or at the front desk); enclose cash or Kenny Hall check (made payable to Christ the King Easter Flowers); and drop the purple “Easter Flowers” envelope in the offertory basket, mail, or return it to the front desk. Parishioners may also elect to donate electronically at www.cathedralofchristtheking.org. Donations must be received by Monday, April 11 for the names to appear in the Easter Sunday Bulletin. Stations of the Cross Stations of the Cross will be prayed each Friday during Lent at 7 pm in the Cathedral. Please join us. FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT Christ the King School Peggy Warner, Principal • 404-233-0383 • www.christking.org Farewell to Father Neil Dhabliwala With the help of every student at Christ the King School, a touching farewell was given to Father Neil Dhabliwala at his last school Mass on March 18. Students gave praise to all of the wonderful support, participation and love that Father Neil has given Christ the King School over the past three years. The highlight of the Mass was a very special duet sung by 4th grade student Sydney Buchanan and 5th grade student Marcus Danckert. Together they sang a moving rendition of Andrea Bocelli’s “The Prayer,” which brought many in attendance to tears. It was an amazing and touching send off for Father Neil as he moves on to his new role as Pastor of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Dahlonega and Campus Minister at North Georgia College, Dahlonega. Certainly, a Christ the King School loss will be a St. Luke’s gain. No podemos producirnos luz a nosotros mismos.
