of beautiful Dalmatians & just in time to be seen before the National begins.
We continue to strive for a timely and beautiful publication that showcases our incredible breed
and is now offered in hard copy as well as in an Electronic format on line.

She has over 15 years of experience in website design and development, electronic publishing and, videography.
She has been a professional dog handler for over 25 years handling primarily Dalmatians, but many other breeds too. Her degree is in laboratory
technology and is an ex-Navy Chief who served a tour of duty in Saudi Arabi - operation Desert Storm. June and husband Irv are experienced
breeders of Dalmatians (25 years) and Bull Terriers (10 years). They have campaigned numerous top winning Dalmatians in the US and abroad,
and own/love/cherish the Nation’s #1 Colored Bull Terrier “Fergie” in 2003.

has over 20 years of experience as a graphic designer with a Bachelor’s degree from Missouri State. She is currently
Senior Graphic Designer at a large corporation, O’Reilly Auto Parts. She has many years of experience in handling many dog breeds
and is a well known Dalmatian breeder under the kennel name of HiSpot Dalmatians. She loves designing for E-Dogs magazines as it
brings her hobby and skills together in a very creative way!
Nicole
is absolutely thrilled to be designing for the “E Dog” team!
Hailing originally from NYC, designing for such companies as Random House Children’s Publishing, Teen Magazine, Yoga Journal
and Nickelodeon. Nicole is now a permanent resident of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She is currently senior designer
at Hawthorn Publications, a custom publisher located in Portsmouth as well as designer for E Dog magazines.
In her spare time she enjoys redecorating and attempting do-it-yourself home projects in her new condo.
You will also see her in the show ring with her very active Boston Terriers !
Larissa
has been with E Dog Magazines from the very beginning.
A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in visual media, Larissa specializes in graphic design, typography,
photo restoration and candid dog photography. She has served for over 5 years as the official website photographer
for USA at the Westminster Kennel Club Show.
Founding prinicipal of LClarkPhotoDesign she continues to expand her portfolio of “Dog Biz” through her
Pro Dog Show Photographer (and Father) Fritz Clark, and also as film editor with ShowDogVideoPros!
TROT-SAR Search and Rescue Team as well as E Dog Magazines.
She specializes in candid photography which caputures the spirits and personalities of dogs and horses
(oops don’t forget Lucky the sheep ). Her photos were selected as Grand Prize Winner for Foster and Smith Catalog,
Revival Animal Health and 365 Dogs a Day Calendar. She has had Dalmatians for 32 years finishing conformation and performance titles
on numerous dogs in AKC, UKC and International venues. Linda has also worked 34 years for the Federal Government as a Firefighter
and recently retired from her position in Logistics and Supply Mangement Officer for the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research
(Veterinary Medicine).
was born into a house of dogs. Some of the breeds included Cocker Spaniels, St. Bernards, Irish Wolfhounds and Kerry
Blue Terriers. Her true love of Dalmatians didn’t come true until 1981 and she has been an owner, breeder and exhibitor ever since.
She is a graduate of Montserrat College of Art with a minor in photography and worked for many years as a senior store executive for a
major retailer. After many years Karen has returned to the world of photography where her favorite subjects are her 3 Dalmatians
and her garden. She is now the owner of Sit Stay and Play, A Dog Day Care center in Beverly Massachussetts
and enjoys writing for E DogMagazines. In her spare time Karen is also an avid equestrian.
Jane
is the author of the best selling “When Pigs Fly: Training Success With Impossible Dogs.”
She breeds Bull Terriers and is currently producing a film on puppy rearing and socialization in the critical first twelve weeks of life.
Her somewhat paradoxical passions for Bull Terriers (not easy to train) and agility (requires a lot of training) have earned her a PhD in
Getting Dogs To Happily Do Stuff They Don’t Naturally Want To Do. She’s been fortunate enough to travel all over the world
and present seminars on training “Impossible” dogs, bringing a message to hope to dog owners who are at their wits end.
Michele,
For
the Sport of Dogs has become her passion and weekend diversion from the world of High Technology where
she has served in various Senior Leadership positions for the past 20 years. Michele was introduced to The Dalmatian breed 16 years
ago when her husband decided he wanted a dog that he could take running. By the time they went to pick out their first puppy, they were
looking for a show dog. Michele and her husband Tom have bred and exhibited Dalmatians under the SunnyOaks kennel name, producing
multiple BISS winners, Group winners, National and Regional Specialty winners, and the 2004 Dalmatian Club of America Top 20 winner
who went on to be the #1 Bitch and #3 Dal in 2004 and 2005. Michele has been contributing to E Dog Magazines as a writer for the past few
years.

THE DALMATIAN STANDARD
Desirable height at the withers is between 19 and
23 inches. Undersize or oversize is a fault. Any dog
or bitch over 24 inches at the withers is disqualified.
The overall length of the body from the forechest to
the buttocks is approximately equal to the height at
the withers. The Dalmatian has good substance and is
strong and sturdy in bone, but never coarse.
Head
The head is in balance with the overall dog. It is of fair
length and is free of loose skin. The Dalmatian’s expression is alert and intelligent, indicating a stable and
outgoing temperament. The eyes are set moderately
well apart, are medium sized and somewhat rounded in appearance, and are set well into the skull. Eye
color is brown or blue, or any combination thereof;
the darker the better and usually darker in black-spotted than in liver-spotted dogs Abnormal position of the
eyelids or eyelashes (ectropion, entropion, trichiasis)
is a major fault. Incomplete pigmentation of the eye
rims is a major fault. The ears are of moderate size,
proportionately wide at the base and gradually tapering to a rounded tip. They are set rather high, and
are carried close to the head, and are thin and fine in
texture. When the Dalmatian is alert, the top of the
ear is level with the top of the skull and the tip of the
ear reaches to the bottom line of the cheek. The top
of the skull is flat with a slight vertical furrow and is
approximately as wide as it is long. The stop is moderately well defined. The cheeks blend smoothly into a
powerful muzzle, the top of which is level and parallel to the top of the skull. The muzzle and the top of
the skull are about equal in length. The nose is completely pigmented on the leather, black in black-spotted dogs and brown in liver-spotted dogs. Incomplete
nose pigmentation is a major fault. The lips are clean
and close fitting. The teeth meet in a scissors bite.
Overshot or undershot bites are disqualifications.
Neck, Topline, Body
The neck is nicely arched, fairly long, free from
throatiness, and blends smoothly into the shoulders. The topline is smooth. The chest is deep,
capacious and of moderate width, having good
spring of rib without being barrel shaped. The brisket reaches to the elbow. The underline of the rib
cage curves gradually into a moderate tuck-up. The
back is level and strong. The loin is short, muscular
and slightly arched. The flanks narrow through the
loin. The croup is nearly level with the back. The
tail is a natural extension of the topline. It is not

inserted too low down. It is strong at the insertion
and tapers to the tip, which reaches to the hock.
It is never docked. The tail is carried with a slight
upward curve but should never curl over the back.
Ring tails and low-set tails are faults.
Forequarters
The shoulders are smoothly muscled and well
laid back. The upper arm is approximately equal
in length to the shoulder blade and joins it at an
angle sufficient to insure that the foot falls under
the shoulder. The elbows are close to the body. The
legs are straight, strong and sturdy in bone. There is
a slight angle at the pastern denoting flexibility.
Hindquarters
The hindquarters are powerful, having smooth, yet

half-dollar. They are pleasingly and evenly distributed. The less the spots intermingle the better. Spots
are usually smaller on the head, legs and tail than
on the body. Ears are preferably spotted. Tri-color
(which occurs rarely in this breed) is a disqualification. It consists of tan markings found on the head,
neck, chest, leg or tail of a black- or liver-spotted
dog. Bronzing of black spots, and fading and/
or darkening of liver spots due to environmental
conditions or normal processes of coat change

Step 1) Email us & tell us what type of ad you want.
(Dog ad, litter ad, Club ad, classified listing, etc.)
Step 2) Send us all your ad info to include:
-Text copy you want on the ad
-Color photo(s) of your dog scanned at High Resolution (150 dpi or higher) & sent to us electronically.
We prefer no more that 2- 4 photos per ad. (Xtra fees apply for more than 4 photos). Scanned photos
are accepted by regular mail but must be received before the deadline.
