The Communicator ISLAMIC ASSOCIATION OF CARY, NORTH CAROLINA Volume 3, Issue 3 A WORD FROM THE AMEER Dear Brothers and Sisters: Assalamu Alaikum! As we enter the year 2015, it is time to reflect and thank AllahSWT for His enormous favors during 2014. We were blessed to have a very harmonious and peaceful year where the camaraderie was evident always, our youth made tremendous progress towards Deen, and the new masjid progress made significant steps towards eventual completion. I wish to thank all the brothers and sisters for their cooperation to please AllahSWT. We pray that 2015 brings even more of His blessings. Yet, the memories of Peshawar incidence are still fresh and we pray that AllahSWT place all the Shuhada in Jannah and invoke Sabre Jameel in their loved ones. It is a wakeup call that we remain on guard at our Masjid for such happenings, and also that we educate our children to be watchful of bad people enticing them towards evil acts in the name of Islam. May AllahSWT protect us all. Regards, Shakil Ahmed EDITORIAL Assalam-u-Alaikum Brothers and Sisters. Please do read 3 important sections in this month’s edition: 1. Vigil for victims of Peshawar 2. The vigil offered a place to find peace and meaning for the painful and seemingly senseless recent acts of violence. The event was also featured on ABC news.
