
Columbus Container Transload Facility (CTF)
 Need for Ohio Grain Transloading Facility
 Needed site that was rail served with excellent highway access
 “Green” Solution
 Utilize rail infrastructure to eliminate need for heavy trucks on
federal, state and local roads while affording Ohio agriculture
the opportunity to be more competitive in the containerized
export of agricultural products by providing maximized cargo
weight option
 Re-use existing infrastructure vs. environmental impact, cost
and delays related to new construction
 Proximity to empty container supply
 Created opportunity to balance import and export moves from
the central Ohio market area

Columbus Container Transload Facility (CTF)
 Need for Steel Tube & Bar Transload Operation
 Utilized Available Capacity at our Newly Established CTF
 Capitalized on existing expertise in handling the product
 Determined the best option given the origin of the cargo, the
transit time requirements, the inland economics, the
requirement to load heavy and the need to have a ready
source of available international containers
 Established a logistics chain that allows this Ohio
manufacturer to minimize cost and deliver their product to a
worldwide market in a safe and efficient manner.
 Provided the customer with a single source solution that has
allowed them to grow their export business and provide jobs
for Ohio workers

Columbus Container Transload Facility (CTF)
 Customer Needed to Receive Product by Rail but
Was Not Rail Served
 Utilized Available Capacity at our Newly Established CTF
 Listened to Customer’s Needs
 Evaluated the options
 Provided ability to Receive Coil Wire for Manufacturing
Operation, provide temporary storage and then deliver on JIT
basis giving the customer the solution they needed to
efficiently operate a new manufacturing facility creating jobs
for Ohio

Chicago
 Major Consumer Products Customer needed Options
 CPGDS did not have a “brick and mortar” solution in Chicago
 Set up a 4PL solution with a partner that had excess capacity
in a suitable location
 Within sixty (60) days we established a viable cost effective
solution
 Integrated our trucking operation to assist with local
transportation requirements
 Operation is now in its fourth year and has grown to over
150,000 sq. ft.
 Integrating WMS into the customer’s “line of business”
systems to make the operation even more efficient
