The word is that the owners of La Hacienda have reincarnated a t Amigos! AHS CLASS OF ’65 50 TH ANNIVERSARY REUNION! You and your spouse/partner/friend are invited to celebrate the good times and the good friends made at Stephen F. Austin High School “back when”! We will have a great time remembering those good times as our classmates from the years of 1964 and 1966 that influenced our lives so richly join us. SAVE THE DATE: OCTOBER 15-­‐18, 2015
For those traveling to El Paso, the Reunion Committee has blocked rooms at the Double Tree Hotel, 600 N. El Paso Street, until October 1. The hotel is located across the street from the Chihuahua Stadium. Call 1-­‐800-­‐445-­‐8667 to obtain our preferred rate of $90/double occupancy plus tax. FRIDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 16, 8:45 A M – HOMECOMING! We will meet at AHS (3500 Memphis) for breakfast and a tour of the school. Austin’s homecoming and the big game against El Paso High School is that evening…if it is still the “big game”! Too bad we can’t go. We will take photos on the front steps of the school at the end of our tour. FRIDAY EVENING, OCTOBER 16, 6:30 PM – DINING/DANCING
Cocktails (no host bar), dinner, music and dancing will be at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing (1 Ardovino Drive, Sunland Park, NM) from 6:30 pm-­‐10:30 pm (or later). Our class president, Pat Gotcher, will emcee the evening’s presentations (or roastings). SATURDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 17, 10:00 AM – DOWNTOWN TOUR
We will meet at and tour Chihuahua Stadium (1 Ballpark Drive), the El Paso History Museum (across the street) to see the Digital Wall, and the historic Plaza Theater (2 blocks away). Lunch will follow with old friends at one of the many restaurants in the Mills Building or nearby. SATURDAY EVENING, OCTOBER 17, 5:00 PM – COCKTAILS From 5:00 pm-­‐7:00 pm, there will b e a Cocktail Party at the El Paso Club (220 E. Main St., 18th Floor), with heavy Hors d’oeuvres and a no host bar. Many will b e heading to the 6th Annual Border Legends Rock and Roll Concert held at the El RESERVATIONS REQUIRED BY OCTOBER 12TH Send the reservation card (below for e-­‐mails and enclosed for snail mail) for the festivities to Phyllis Lafferty Bourque, 312 Pleasant Drive, Rollingwood, Texas 78746. You can make the check out to “Phyllis Bourque” or to “Class of 1965 AHS”. Cost is $85 per person for all activities or $50 per person excluding attendance at the Cocktail Party on Saturday evening, as some of you may go straight to the Border Legends Concert from 4:00 pm-­‐10:00 pm. Cocktails at Ardovino’s and the El Paso Club are no host—you are responsible. Lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday—you are responsible. There will be a photographer following us on Friday; photos and CD that she provides for sale at Ardovino’s will be at your cost. Dress at all activities is casual, meaning no ties or suits for the guys. Ardovino’s is “dressy casual” while the El Paso Club is “business casual”. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE COME!
