ONGOING PROGRAMS
JUNE PET ADOPTION CLINIC
Join us on Saturday, June 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
for our quarterly Schabarum Pet Adoption Clinic held in
partnership with the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter. They
will be bringing several beautiful dogs to the park who will
have already had their required vaccinations, have been fitted with a location microchip and will be ready to go home
with you to become a treasured member of your family.

with Regional Deputy Director Hayden Sohm, was recently named “Regional Employee of the Year” at
the annual Parks and Recreation Awards ceremony.
Ellen is a valued member of our Schabarum staff and
most deserving of this award. Please join us in congratulating her on this acknowledgement of her outstanding work at Schabarum Regional Park!
MORE AWARD-WINNING STAFF MEMBERS
The next “Family Bird Walk” is scheduled for Sunday, June
20. Please join volunteer naturalist Ray Jillson at the park
office at 8:00 a.m., wear comfortable walking shoes, bring
your binoculars, water and a bird I.D. book if you have one.
All ages are welcome; children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. FREE w/vehicle admission fee.
TENNIS FOR KIDS
New sessions for our Kids Tennis program are forming now.
Classes are open to kids ages 6 to 18, beginner level is ages 6
to 11. Please contact head coach and tennis professional

TAI-CHI & DANCE IN THE PARK
Every day at Schabarum Park you will see many groups exercising throughout the park. These groups do line-dancing
and many forms of Tai Chi as well as practicing many other
exercise and relaxation techniques. Everyone is invited to
join in the fun and enjoy exercising in the park! It’s FREE!
SCHABARUM SUPPORT FOUNDATION
Have you joined yet? Membership in the volunteer arm of
Schabarum Regional Park is open to everyone 18 and over
and is only $10.00 a year, plus you will received a beautiful

Senior Grounds Maintenance Worker Maria Ceballos,

Painted many picnic tables & bar-b-ques

Painted restroom 8 & numbered all light posts

Painted the long wall at the Azusa Exit.
We thank all of these scouts for having chosen
Schabarum Regional Park for the location of
their projects, for their outstanding work and for
having achieved the highest award in Boy Scouts
of America, that of “Eagle Scout.” Job well done!
IS THERE AN IMPORTANT EVENT IN
YOUR FUTURE?
Consider renting our beautiful covered amphitheater and adjacent picnic area for corporate events,
family reunions, “quinceaneras,” picnics, weddings
and other family or business events. This area has
a maximum capacity of 100 and offers not only the
amphitheater and picnic area but seven additional
separate areas that can be utilized for registration,
guest sign-in books, gift display, cake service,
champagne fountain, food service or tables &
