Here, the Heavy Industrial Programs are held, including the Heavy Hauler and FINNtech (Heavy Equipment Technician) programs. Students whose programs are located at SEIC also have access to all of the services at the Clearwater Campus. FORT CHIPEWYAN CAMPUS • Fort Chipewyan GREGOIRE LAKE Although Keyano has been a part of the Fort Chipewyan community for more than 30 years, the campus was recently inaugurated in 2011. This provided a permanent home for the community to access higher education and a public library. CHECK ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND DEADLINES a Check to see if you have the required education levels for the program(s) you have chosen. Many post secondary programs require a High School Diploma as well as specific courses with specified percentage. b. Some programs at Keyano College have application deadlines. Be sure to check your program for application deadlines to make certain you know when your application and any required items need to be submitted. Keyano College requires that you submit all official academic transcripts. This means all high school and post-secondary course work must be sent to the Office of the Registrar directly from the issuing institution(s). If English is not your first language you are required to submit proof of English Language Proficiency. For more information regarding acceptable forms of English Language Proficiency see page 85 or contact the Office of the Registrar to speak with a Student Advisor at 780-791-4801; toll free 1-800- 251-1408, or e-mail registrar@keyano.ca. b. If you are currently attending high school you may qualify for conditional admission if you provide your first semester final grades and your second semester courses that you are registered in. Conditional admission allows you to register before you finish high school. Full acceptance will be granted upon receipt of official transcripts to verify program admission requirements have been met. COMPLETE ANY ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF ENTRY, FOR THE PROGRAM YOU HAVE SELECTED, IF APPLICABLE a. Some programs at Keyano College require other documents to be forwarded in addition to your academic records such as a driver’s abstracts, security clearance, etc. Please ensure that all of this information is forwarded if applicable. b. Some programs at Keyano require the completion of an admissions test, interview, or audition. Please ensure that you complete all requirements for admission to your program. Once you are accepted to your program of study, you will be required to submit a $100 CAD tuition deposit to be registered in your courses. International students are required to submit a $200 CAD tuition deposit. Students admitted into apprenticeship programs, and Power Engineering Online must pay tuition and fees in full at time of registration. TOEFL + TSE • iBT or IELTS or CAEL or MELAB or ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY The primary language of instruction is English. Your overall language proficiency is sufficient if you have three or more years of full-time education in English, normally including the grade 12 year or higher, in a Canadian school or an approved school outside of Canada with accepted English Language Proficiency (see English Language Proficiency section at keyano.ca). If you do not present these years of English education, you will be required to meet this requirement in other ways, as listed below. CLBA (only for MCTP) OR Successful completion of a transferable six-credit post-secondary English taken at a Canadian Public Post-Secondary Institution. Minimum grade of C for Certificate and Diploma Programs, a minimum grade of B for University Transfer and a minimum grade of C- for all other programs is required. OR Successful completion of Alberta English 30-1 or Canadian provincial equivalent with a minimum grade of 70 per cent or higher. OR Successful completion of Alberta English 30-2 or Canadian provincial equivalent with a minimum grade of 75 per cent or higher.
