FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

THE GREAT HYMN TO LOVE
It is doubtful that Saint Paul, when he sat down to write
what we now know as the thirteenth chapter of First
Corinthians, knew that he was penning what was to
become one of the keystones of Christian ethics. In this
brief passage, he set down ideals about love that have
held fast through the centuries. Sometimes we may think
that because these are ideals to which we aspire, we are
excused from them in our daily living.
But what Paul was writing was a letter to his friends,
providing them with some sound advice about what it
meant—and still means—to live in love, day by day, as
a follower of Christ. We find in his words to his friends
a broadening of the great commands of Jesus to love
God and neighbor. Today we hear what this love must
look like in our own actions, and how it ought to guide
our relationships with others.

GATHER US IN
_____THE LITURGY of THE WORD_____
PENITENTIAL ACT (A) (CONFITEOR)
I confess to almighty God, and to you, my
brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in
my thoughts and in my words, in what I have
done and in what I have failed to do,
(striking their breast, all say) through my fault,
through my fault, through my most grievous fault;
therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the
Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and
sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.
PENITENTIAL ACT (B)
Priest: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
People: For we have sinned against you.
Priest: Show us, O Lord, your mercy.
People: And grant us your salvation.
GLORIA
Glory to God in the Highest,
and on earth peace to people of good will.
We praise you, we bless you, we adore you,
we glorify you,
we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King,
O God, almighty Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world,
receive our prayer;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father,
have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One,
you alone are the Lord,
You alone are the Most High,
Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
PSALM
I will sing of your salvation.
Used with permission. LicenSing 601922
THE NICENE CREED
I believe in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
(BOW) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate
of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius
Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and
rose again on the third day in accordance with
the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the
living and the dead and his kingdom will
have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver
of life, who proceeds from the Father and the
Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored
and glorified, who has spoken through the
prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic
Church. I confess one Baptism for the
forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the
resurrection of the dead and the life of the
world to come. Amen.

parishioners explaining that right now
we cannot balance our budget. I have
asked everyone to make a commitment
to raise their support of the Church,
according to their ability. I have asked
people to respond and many have.
This weekend at all the Masses, I am
asking those who have not already
responded to fill out a card saying
what they think they will be able to do.
Once I get a response card back, I will
send a thank you note. If you cannot
raise your collection amount, I
understand that, but please fill out a
card so that I know that.
Also, we have mailed information for
on-line giving and a lot of people have
signed up. It is simple to sign up.
Then there is no more writing checks
I signed up and I was amazed at how
quick and easy it was and I am not the
most computer savvy person in the
world. It also saves the parish money
because mailing packs of envelopes
six times a year costs about five
dollars. That does not sound like
much, but in our world every penny
we can save helps.

GOOD DEEDS WEEK
Geauga County Recorder, Sharon C. Gingerich, Probate/
Juvenile Court Judge, Tim Grendell and the Geauga
County Bar Association offer a deed review program to
help Geauga County residents better understand probate
issues regarding property transfers.
The Program is a volunteer deed review process for
Geauga County homeowners. It is a county-wide effort
to help Geauga residents (1) identify whether the form of
their present deed will require transfer through the
Probate Court upon death; and (2) to consider less
expensive and less time-consuming alternatives to a
probate transfer.
On Monday, March 7, Wednesday, March 9, and
Thursday, March 10, 2016 we will be hosting a Good
Deeds Week. The Recorder’s Office will open from 6:00
p.m. to shortly before 7:00 p.m. each evening to allow
residents to obtain copies of their deeds. The presentation
will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Courtroom A of the Geauga
County Probate/Juvenile Court, on the 2nd floor of the
Courthouse Annex. After the presentation, attorneys will
be available to privately discuss your estate matters.
Light refreshments will be served.
