2nd Quarter Financial Update
August—”Double Up-Catch Up” Month
1. Thanks to a very generous contribution our “Piggy Bank” is now full
and happy with a balance of almost $33,000.
2. Our budget deficits continue. For the year, expenses have exceeded
receipts by $10,000—this is almost identical to the first six months of
2014. Budget receipts are down $23,000 when compared to last year,
but we have managed to reduce expenses by $23,000 when
compared to last year. The second quarter deficit was slightly lower
than the first quarter.
3. Budget deficits have been an annual occurrence over the last
five years, as we have spent $112,000 more than our receipts over
that period.

X 2 Double
Catch Up
AUGUST
4. Since we cannot continue to run deficits on an indefinite basis, the
church has designated August as “Double Up-Catch Up” month. We
are asking members who are willing and capable to try to “double”
their monthly contribution for one month. If we can band together
and “double” our contributions for just one month, we can “catch up”
and turn our deficit into a surplus and start feeling better about our
church’s finances.

Dear Church Family,
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
You have blessed our Food Distribution Ministry with a most
generous “harvest” collected at the end of Music Camp Sunday night! We
thank God for the privilege, made possible by your gifts, of serving our
neighbors essential, nourishing food. George McDonald, one of the
Scottish Celtic writers said it so clearly: “Painstaking service to
humankind’s most material needs is the essence of Christian
spirituality.” You all shine in making possible this service. Those of us
who work there are blessed --every time!
NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP IN ANOTHER WAY:
Almost all of our regular workers will be away August 8th for
various reasons, so now is the time for YOU to come pitch in with your
hands and feet! We will have the regular crew there this coming
Saturday, July 25th, so if you come then, we’ll be glad to “show you the
ropes.” It’s not complicated, but these are the needs—especially for the
August 8th date:
 a pick-up and/or a van or two to transport the fresh produce and
bread and meat from the Parkview Mission to the Connecting Point
on Saturday morning at 9:45AM
 persons to help load the food at Parkview and then unload the
above at our Connecting Point
 volunteers to assist the “shoppers” as needed to gather their food
If you haven’t already come to help us, take this opportunity to come
and see for yourselves how needed and welcome are your both your
Christian presence and your gifts!
Hopefully—and Gratefully,
Dudley and Sylvia
