Thanks again for your commitment and your devotion to The Palmas Academy. Dr. Rubén Chamorro President TPA Board of Trustees BULLETIN Page 4 OUR STUDENTS IN THE ARTS!! Not having a place that they could call the senior room, the 12 th grade students came up with the idea of creating a space where every TPA senior class from now on can spend their free time together during their last year in school. This is how they have become the first graduating class leaving the school their very own legacy: The Senior Placita. This Placita will be located in the open area just before the administrative offices. It consists of three concrete round patio tables with benches, a tiki bar (to raise funds for their prom by selling smoothies), and decorative planters. Mosaics will cover the tops of the tables, as well as the benches, and will have the names of students printed on some of the mosaic glasses. For the mosaic itself, the students are getting help from a group of ladies from the Palmas community. These are: Brenda Montanelli, Linda Vizcarrondo and Jeannette Schuck. They are leading the students step by step in the decorative technique of mosaic art. Seniors participating in this project will also be earning community service hours for their work.
