A senior catcher, she appeared in all 27 games this season; batted .528 with 24 runs and 33 RBI to go along with 13 doubles, 4 triples and 7 home runs. Her on-base percentage was .751 with 19of-20 in stolen bases. Her softball career will continue at the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska. A. This year, the Festival will focus on youth ensembles as Christopher Bell conducts the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras and the National Youth Choir of Scotland, in a program of marches and patriotic anthems. (The Grant Park Orchestra will not perform at this concert). One Night Passes for reserved seats, starting at $25, are available by calling (312) 742-7647 or online at gpmf.org. Seats that are free and open to the public in the Seating Bowl and on the Great Lawn are also available on a first-come, firstserved basis. An open rehearsal will take place on July 4th, at 2:30 p.m. in Millennium Park. Audiences are welcome to sit in the Pavilion Seating Bowl during rehearsal, and docents will talk about the program during rehearsal breaks. The July 4th concert will be broadcast live on 98.7WFMT, Chicago’s classical and fine arts radio station, and online at wfmt.com/streaming. On Fridays at 5:30 p.m. before the Grant Park Orchestra takes the stage, audiences are treated to concerts by students from local music schools and summer music programs at the front of the Great Lawn at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. She was born on Aug. 9th, 1924, the daughter of late Levingston & Charlotte (Delaney) Marshall. She moved to Chicago in 1946 and married the late Joseph M. Dzielawa. Survivors are her children Charles (Kathy) Dzielawa, Carol (Arthur) Kavanaugh and Mary Jane (Michael) Kloepping; siblings Marie Laboda and Margaret (Thomas) Gooshaw; grandchildren Kenneth (Terry) Dzielawa, Sean (Cathy) Kavanaugh, Karen (William) Barbarics, Erin (Daniel) Collins, Christopher (Katie) Kloepping and Sarah Kloepping; great-grand children Klera, Noah, John, Quinn, Keegan, Blake, Jack, Claire, Charlotte, William, Molly and Emma. Jane was predeceased by brothers John L. Marshall, James P. Marshall and sisters, Katherine Antalek and Theresa Fortin. A former member of Five Holy Martyrs Parish, she served as a seamstress for Herberts’ Mens Wear in Brighton Park. Summer vacations were enjoyed in her hometown of Ogdensburg, New York along the St. Lawrence Seaway. City Colleges of Chicago welcome the newest group of applicants to the Chicago Star Scholarship during a rally at the Malcolm X College and School of Health Sciences. This fall, the scholarship will provide an opportunity for the second cohort of qualified Chicago Public Schools graduates to attend free of charge. CPS high school seniors have the opportunity to pursue a degree or certificate at City College at no cost and to access transfer scholarships with 15 four-year colleges and universities. The first cohort of scholars achieves a 94 percent retention rate.
