entral Trail’s fall fundraiser was a great success! Central students
achieved over $47,000 in sales, resulting in over $20,000 in
profit. Parents Club will utilize this money to help pay for special
events, such as the carnival, family dance and international
night. This money also helps to pay for equipment, supplies, busing for
field trips and other various needs that arise throughout the school year.
Thank you to the many students, parents and volunteers who helped to
make this fundraiser such a successful event!

C
entral Trail will be “kicking off” the annual
Helping Hands Thanksgiving food drive
on Friday, November 8, with a fun, football
themed contest. When students bring in
food items to donate, they will be able to choose
to put the items on either a Buckeye or Wolverine
team table, located at the front of the school. On
Wednesday, November 20, the items will be totaled
and the most giving team will be announced. To
help fill a Thanksgiving food basket for a Central Trail
family in need, while at the same time showing pride
in your favorite team, please consider donating some
of the following food items:
Dry Stuffing Mix
Canned Vegetables Instant Potatoes
Cake Mix
Frosting
Sauces
Cranberry Sauce
Canned Fruit
Gravy (canned or mix)

receive a class pie party, as well as a silly string battle
with Mrs. Schaal!
What IS the Central Helping
Hands Program?
T
he Helping Hands committee is a group
of parents that work behind the scenes, to
assist Central Trail families who are in need
of food, clothing or other necessities. If you
are interested in helping when a request arises,
please email Lisa Marselek at lmarsalek@yahoo.
com or Dana Imbrock at danaimbrock@gmail.com
to be included in the email list of those willing to
help. Confidentiality of those receiving assistance
is strictly maintained through Mrs. Kunklle, the
guidance counselor.

located at 9851 Meridian

ourth grader, Maira Hafeez has raised over $300
for the Hickman Cancer Center at Flower Hospital.
“She really has a passion for helping people,” says
Amy Keller of the Foundation offices. They are
impressed that she has continued her efforts over the
past three years. Maria has raised money selling home
grown vegetables and creating signs and a donation
Thinking Out of
the (Lunch) Box
C
urrently, our lunchroom
helper spends the majority
of her time assisting many,
many students with opening
the items packed in their lunch box.
Please be mindful of packaging when
choosing items for your child’s lunch, or
consider slightly opening the package for your child
before packing it. Independent students will help our
lunchroom helper to better utilize her time for other
important tasks.
box for her dad’s office. Maira chose the Hickman
Cancer Foundation, “because kids with cancers are
really scared. Other diseases give you a better
chance for living a long time, with cancer you
need lots of medicines to be healthy again.”
Maira encourages others to take part in supporting
organizations that they believe in.

I
have recently been introduced (by Mrs. Morgan!) to a
text reminder application called REMIND 101. This will
allow me to periodically send out school reminders
and updates via text message using a safe and secure
application. To participate in receiving text message
reminders, simply text: 567.703.4167 with the message
@prinschaal. This is a one-way text communication from
me to you. This service does not allow for people in my
group to respond to my text. You are able to opt out
at anytime by messaging ‘stop’ to the above number.
Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you!

Absences
P
arents, we appreciate and
encourage your courtesy
calls regarding your child’s
absence, however regardless
of your courtesy call, we are mandated
by law to make an attempt to contact you regarding
your child’s absence. This is achieved by the automated
calling system. This call asks you to verify your child’s
absence/tardiness as well as to send a note
in when the student returns to class. If
you have already called in then you
do not need to call again. This is
also why it is so important that you
provide us with a phone number
on your child’s Student Verification
Form where you can be reached or a
voicemail may be left. These were sent
home at the beginning of the year for your review and
returned to the school. There are certain absence codes
ie, PCA, Funeral etc that will not trigger the calling
system. In those cases you will not
receive a phone call because you
have sent in or filled out forms
letting us know of the child’s
absence and we have that on file.
Thanks for your cooperation.
