In 1996, the ManPower Conference was held in Greensboro, NC. Brothers from many of the churches in our present joint fellowship attended the Greensboro conference on their own or as individual churches. ManPower was held in Memphis, Tennessee in 1997. Brothers from Shady Grove, Hull Road, St. Augustus, Central Heights and Saint's Delight decided to secure a charter and travel as a joint body. What a fellowship! It was a wonderful experience . . . one that we wanted to relive time and time again. From the Memphis experience, we decided to meet at different churches on the Saturday before fifth Sundays in a joint fellowship. Since that time sixteen other men's fellowships have joined the initial group. These include: Whosoever Will, Disciples of Christ, Kinston, NC; Jumping Run Ministries, LaGrange, NC; New Covenant Holiness, Grifton, NC; Burning Bush Church Ministries, Kinston, NC; St. Luke FWB, LaGrange, NC; Gospel Tabernacle United Holiness, Fremont, NC; New Stoney Hill United Holiness Church, Goldsboro, NC; Invitation AME Zion Church, Snow Hill, NC; St. Mary’s FWB Church, LaGrange, NC; Zion Chapel FWB Church, Ayden, NC and Beach Grove FWB Church, Chocowinity, NC; Faith Tabernacle United Holiness Church, Kinston, NC; Maury Chapel FWB Church, Maury, NC; Bryan Chapel United Holiness Church, Snow Hill, NC; St. Peter FWB Church, Snow Hill, NC and St. Peter Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, Kinston, NC. Since Memphis, we have traveled together for ManPower sessions in Birmingham, Alabama; Washington, DC; St. Petersburg, Fla; Dallas, TX, Charlotte, NC., and Atlanta, Ga. for MegaFest, 2004. On May 5-7, 2005, we attended Bishop Eddie Long's Nation of Jesus Men's Conference in Concord, NC. We are currently operating under a Constitution and By-Laws, have officers in place and contact persons in each church fellowship, have set up a solid banking arrangement and have brothers throughout the fellowship who love the Lord and this work. To God Be The Glory! Presidents of Anointed Men Of Christ have included Bro. John A. Hill (Shady Grove), Deacon John Miller (Hull Road), Bro. James Wooten (New Covenant Holiness), Deacon Robert Bizzell, deceased (St. Luke), Deacon John Jackson (Simro) Bro. Jimmy Ward (The Lord’s Table), Bro. Preston Hall (Hull Road), Minister John McNair (St. Matthews) and our current president, Bro. Greg Laws of Hull Road. Attending conferences was our major project; however, Anointed Men Of Christ has taken on additional concerns over the years. Other projects have included the Christmas Cheer Program, joint travel (Caribbean cruise), gang seminars and our annual men’s conferences. This year’s conference focuses on young men in our respective fellowships . . . how we might more favorably impact their lives. All of these activities have been designed to expand our work and our joint efforts. During the 2007 conference, the Annual Fishers of Men Award was initiated and given to the men’s fellowship with the most men in attendance for the conference. The fellowship at Shady Grove FWB Church was recipient of the first award in 2007. We need for each of you to ’tell our story’ and offer input as to how we might make Anointed Men Of Christ stronger. Think about it . . . we’ve been organized since 1997 and we’ve never cancelled a meeting! We pray that each church pastor will, once again, support Anointed Men Of Church and offer ‘spiritual insight’ into the daily concerns of life. All men are welcome to attend the fellowship. Come expecting good camaraderie and a Word from the Lord! JAH Chaperons Our History 6:00 pm Dinner and Departure thereafter to Hull Road FWB Church Anointed Men Of Christ
