The institution offers 45 Associate Degree and 26 Certificate programs. NCC provides a broad range of credit and non-credit programs leading to transfer, employment and lifelong learning. Norwalk Community College is the southwest Fairfield County leader and partner in the academic, economic, cultural lives of our communities, providing comprehensive, accessible, innovative and affordable learning opportunities to diverse populations. Norwalk Community College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). In addition, many individual programs are accredited by national professional associations including the Legal Assistant, Nursing, Respiratory Care and Engineering Technology Curricula. Resources NCC is home to a new Center for Science, Health and Wellness, a 55,000 square foot addition to the West Campus building. The Center houses three floors dedicated to Nursing and Allied Health, the Sciences, and Health and Wellness. This $38 million facility features state-of-the-art science laboratories and classrooms, the Pitney Bowes Wellness Center, a hospital simulation unit and the most advanced computerized Sim-Men teaching mannequins available. Other outstanding campus resources include a Film and TV Production Studio, Child Development Laboratory School, Culinary Arts Kitchen and Dining Room, Art Studios, Everett I.L. Baker Library, Accounting Laboratory, Tutoring Center, Counseling Center, Open Computer Laboratories and Student Success Center. Points of Distinction • NCC’s Center for Science, Health and Wellness was the first building in the Connecticut community college system to be awarded LEED Gold Certification for sustainable design and construction. • The U.S. Department of Labor awarded NCC a $12 million grant in 2012 to develop workforce training programs. NCC leads a consortium of Connecticut colleges developing associate degree programs and industry certifications to prepare workers for careers in the growing health and life sciences fields. • NCC has twice been named to the U.S. President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal distinction a college can achieve for its commitment to civic engagement and community service. Service Region NCC serves the 10-town region of lower Fairfield County and attracts students from throughout the tri-state area and overseas. Students hail from 62 countries and speak 40 languages.
