It is a beautiful spring day as I write this and the sun is shining so I am enthusiastic for new growth within and around me. I have a favorite reflection, “Seeds Sown” that really speaks to me in the Spring. We do not always know what happens to the seeds we plant during the course of a day. Many of you are here because of a seed planted by a friend, family member, something someone just said in passing. That is how things come to grow. We can continue to grow members of the Passavant Area Hospital Auxiliary by the seeds we sow. After the May and June meetings, I see that it will be a busy and fun year. The May Luncheon was a success, the Duck Race was a success, and even though we will not meet again until September, the wheels are turning and work is being done to assure that the Bazaar is a success. If you get a call, please help any way you can. A friend of mine, also an Auxiliary member, says, “If you cannot do what you are asked, ask if you can help in any other way.” Sow those seeds among your family and friends and maybe those seeds may just grow in to a new wonderful Auxiliary member. There is a lot of fun to be shared by being a part of this group. Patty Fitzpatrick, President This year’s Bazaar theme is “Wonders of the Season.” We will be celebrating the many wonders of Passavant Hospital and its importance in our community. The Bazaar serves as a major fund-raiser for the “Advancing Health” work of the Auxiliary. The proceeds this year will again be used to fund the Stress Echocardiography System. Please join us Friday, November 11, from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, November 12, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You’ll find some traditional favorites, as well as a few surprises at this year’s Bazaar. Debbie Bailey and Lisa Kluge 2016 Bazaar Co-Chairs Mini-Medical Days Announced for Fall Mini Medical Days are coming October 18, 19 and 20! These days are an important Passavant Auxiliary community outreach, as well as a learning experience for second grade students from Jacksonville and surrounding communities. We invite you to participate by serving as a guide as the children walk through the hospital and learn from presenting experts about imaging, rehab, anesthesia, laboratory, infection control, and visit the ambulance/paramedic bay and experience a pediatrics patient room. It’s so much better for children to learn about where they or loved ones could come if needed, but without the stress and anxiety. You’ll have fun and maybe learn too! Volunteer by calling Marilyn Kimmons, 245-6109, or Linda Swisher, 299-6285. Uniform and Jewerly Sales The Passavant Auxiliary sponsored a Uniform Sale on Monday, June 27.
