The Christmas season has drawn to a close. A new year has begun. Did you make
a resolution for the New Year? Sometimes, we have unrealistic expectations for
the year ahead that we can never possibly reach in such a short time, while others
have no expectations at all and never achieve anything with the time God have
given to them to live well. My resolution is to “live well.” Just what does “live well”
mean? St. John the Evangelist says to live well is to “remain in” the Lord by keeping his
commandments and by loving one another as he has loved us. This is the Year of
Mercy. By resolving to live the Works of Mercy, I feel I can “live well.” I can
judge how well I have succeeded in my resolutions in seeing how I am living this
year in the Lord.
Once again, I want to thank everyone who helped make the Christmas liturgies so
holy and beautiful.
I have asked the Transformation Team to give us an update on how we have been
doing in keeping up and developing some of our goals that we set out for ourselves.
At the end of January we will be updated on what we have done and, of course,
where we are going.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
January 18-25, 2016
"Called to Proclaim the Mighty
Acts of the Lord"
"But you are a chosen race, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, God's own
people, in order that you may proclaim
the mighty acts of him who called you
out of darkness into his marvelous
light. Once you were not a people, but
now you are God's people; once you
had not received mercy, but now you
have received mercy.”
(cf. 1 Peter 2:9-10)
Post Holiday Thoughts
The Christmas cookies are history, the
decorations are all packed away, and
the final pine needles have been
swept up. And in the homes of those
who received Christmas presents
through the Holy Family Christmas Giving
Tree Project, laughter and smiles still
linger because of the generosity of
those in the Holy Family community
who participated in this annual
project. Hopefully, you felt the joy of
giving as well. And may it warm your
heart throughout the year. Thank
you. felt the joy of giving as
well. And may it warm your heart
throughout the year. Thank you.
Santino Anthony Esposito

of Glory, may you give to all Christians,
and especially to those entrusted with
leadership in your church, the spirit of
wisdom and revelation.
With the eyes of our hearts may we
see the hope to which you have called
us: one body and one spirit, one lord,
one faith, one baptism, one god and

through all and in all.”

Thank You!
The Domestic Violence Ministry
Thanks everyone in the Parish for
participating in creating the “chain
of strength”. Your messages were
incredibly thoughtful and meaningful
to the women staying at the House of
the Good Shepherd Shelter. The
responses were so great that a chain
would have been over 60 feet long
so we eliminated any names and put
all of the messages into a booklet!
Copies of this booklet are in the office
for anyone to read. It is quite
inspiring!
Beautiful Note Cards
We have seven different cards
featuring full color pictures of some of
our historic stained glass windows.
They can be purchased for $10 a
package (containing 7 cards).
If you are interested, please see Jim
or Father Mike on Sundays or call
Sharon in the office during the week.
In observance of Martin Luther King,
Jr. day, the parish office will be
closed, tomorrow, Monday, January
18th.
