ZADCO HSE record on all its sites and HQ has been of an excellent level due to the strict commitment to HSE regulations by employees and contractors. In order to maintain its record of zero fatalities and zero LTI, ZADCO developed a ‘new-era’ risk management system to protect its workers and sustain operations in the presence of many hazards and amidst heavy construction. In a message to UAD Team, ZADCO CEO, Mr. Saif Nasser Al Suwaidi appreciated the significant achievement by saying “On behalf of the Executive Management Team, I would like to express our acknowledgement to all UAD Team for this achievement. Four artificial islands were constructed to provide a more flexible and robust development base for the redevelopment process. To achieve this production, ZADCO needed a self-moving cluster type land drilling rig to operate on the artificial islands for Extended Reach Drilling mechanism (ERD). The National Drilling Company (NDC) provided the required state-of –the art ND66 rig which was inaugurated on 12th June 2014 in the South Island among presence of top management members from ADNOC and group of companies. NDC delegate was led by Mr. Abdulla Al Suwaidi CEO. While ZADCO delegate was led by Mr. Ali Hassan Al Marzooqi. The objective of the workshop was to create a discussion platform to assess the relative merits of advances in Reservoir Surveillance and Monitoring (RSM) practices. Over 200 professionals from 17 different companies located in 10 different countries participated in the workshop. 15 About the Workshop: In the recent years, the industry has witnessed tremendous innovations and advances in RSM domain; such as, smart wells, i-fields, smart completion technologies, Real Time Data Monitoring (RTDM) and etc. These developments provide rapid and timely integration of operational and field data, reduction of cycle time between data capture & their analysis and fit-for-purpose visualization for a multi-disciplinary workflow. These enhancements are achieved through process automation. Ultimately this enables the field operator to transform the raw data into valuable information to optimize the production and field operations. These advances, over the recent years, have become a key enabler for sustaining the production plateau and extending the field life in general. Considering the historical evolution of integrated reservoir management model (IRMM) and the introduction of many new technologies, artificial intelligence techniques in particular, the aim of this workshop was to establish a discussion platform to assess the relative merits of these advances in view of reservoir performance assurance. Four main discussion themes were discussed including Advances in Integrated Reservoir Management Model, Visualization and Live Monitoring, Integrated Data Analysis towards Optimum Reservoir Management techniques and Moving Forward. During the successful presentations and discussion sessions, a strong emphasis was put on the need for the collaborative working environment which promotes synergistic multi-disciplinary project work leading to change management in the companies. Also emphasized are the roles of the integrated use of Digital Technology and Intelligent Energy, which are keys to enhancing the organizational efficiency; achieving rapid solutions to short and long term reservoir management problems; ascertaining cost effectiveness and successful risk management.
