Weber to protest my transfer. I do not want this to happen. It goes against everything that I stand for. Thirty years ago, when I was ordained, I promised obedience to the Archbishops of New York. My work here at Immaculate Conception Parish and Assumption parish is over. I have been asked to go to another assignment. I go with great peace and with the Grace of God. Hopefully, you threw out the papers, if not please do. Do not write to the Cardinal, he has too many difficult things to do, this not being one of them. As soon as I receive notice of my new assignment, I shall let you know. Father Raaser Dealing with Grief - Monday, July 13 The Bereavement Support Group offers a safe environment, enriched by our faith, where we share our sorrow. As you relate your story to others who are grieving, you learn strategies for coping and discover you are not alone. Find comfort in our community and experience the presence of Jesus as you move from sadness to consolation. Our meetings are at 7:00 PM in the Meeting House on Winter Hill Road. For a complete schedule of meetings, to register, or to speak to a grief counselor, call 793-7267. All are welcome. Our Lady of Mount Carmel - July 16 On Thursday, July 16, we will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with a reception following a special 7:30 PM Mass at Assumption Church. All are welcome! The Hospitality Committee will be in Fr. Fata Hall starting at 6:00 PM to accept baked or bought goodies. HOPE Soup Kitchen - July 21 Due to the increased number of people in need of meals at the HOPE soup kitchen, we are reaching beyond our dedicated group of “Volunteer Angels” who cook and donate food once a month to anyone able to help whenever possible. The next scheduled day for our Parish is Tuesday, July 21. The menu consists of cold chicken (legs and thighs), 2 dozen hard-boiled eggs (stored in carton), and 2 large bags of mixed salad greens and a bottle of Italian dressing (donations of any of the above are appreciated). Aluminum pans or plastic bags will be available on the back porch of the rectory for the cooked entree (enough for 10-15 people). Food should be brought to the Immaculate Conception rectory back porch by 2:30 PM on the designated days. Welcome to New Parishioners We would like to welcome new neighbors who have not yet registered at our parish. Please stop by or call the rectory. We can register you over the phone - ask for Chris. You can also register online: www.assumption-immaculate.org/icc/icc_regform.php Attention Recently Married Parishioners Many individuals who have recently married continue to be registered parishioners as part of their parents’ families, even if the parish is not the one they currently attend. Often they plan to move in the not-too-distant future and do not want to initiate a change until that decision has been made. Couples who do live in the parish and want to be registered as a new family should call the rectory. Change of Address or Phone Number For Current Parishioners If you have changed your phone number and/or moved, please let us know your new information and whether you will continue to be parishioners here. You can call the rectory or complete the information below and drop it in the collection basket. It is important to note apartment numbers. Thank you for keeping us informed! Parishioner Change of Information Form One Hour with Jesus In the Garden of Gethsemani, before His crucifixion, Jesus asked His Apostles, “Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?” Spending one hour with Jesus thus became a tradition in the Church. Let us set aside at least one hour a week in front of the Blessed Sacrament praying for peace in the world. Cenacles of Life - Every Wednesday The intention of the Cenacles of Life movement is to petition our Lord through His Blessed Mother for the end of abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, cloning and assisted suicide. We hope to renew the Spirit of Life from within the Church. We meet Wednesdays at 6:00 PM to pray two rosaries (10 decades) before the Tabernacle and observe one day of fasting for this intention. Those who cannot fast on bread and water, can offer a day fasting from their favorite thing (such as watching TV). All are welcome to join us.
