Staff and the families we swerve daily here at CareNet, I

HELPING HANDS OF FRANKLIN
acts as a community bulletin board to
support local churches, charities, and
individuals by bringing us all together in
an effort to meet each other’s physical and
spiritual needs.
OUR PURPOSE
To demonstrate the love, compassion, and
generosity of Jesus Christ by bringing
people together in order to meet the needs
of our community. Our desire is to help
those in need of basic necessities such as
clothing, household items and services by
connecting them with those who are
willing to give with a generous heart. If
each of us would give a portion of our
gifts, time and talents...imagine the legacy
we could build for future generations in
Franklin.
ABOUT US
Helping Hands of Franklin is not a
business, non-profit organization or
affiliated with any particular church or
denomination. It is simply the vision of a
small group of Christian women wanting
to help our community and spread the love
of Jesus.
For more info, contact Betsy Cason
(524-8200) and Stacy Ellis (332-2400) or
visit www.helpinghandsoffranklin.com.
“Thanks you so much for officiating at the memorial service
held in memory of my beloved cousin, Judye Bryson. Inviting
relatives and friends to participate in the “celebration” of
Judye’s life was indeed heartfelt. I also want to thank the
ladies of Cowee for the lovely reception that was held afterwards. I know now why Kirstin, Paul and Abby are active
church members. I too felt the warm fellowship that was
extended when we walked through the church doors. Thank
you for your gracious hospitality.
Sincerely, Shirley Phillips”
“To our wonderful church family,
We feel so blessed to know so many of you. The
love and kindness shown to us has touched our lives in so
many ways. Thank you to anyone who has done something
for us or has prayed for our family. Thanks for all the
prayers for Matthew’s cousin Christopher who just go out of
the hospital. Your concern and prayers touched his family
more than you will ever know. To know people he had never
even met called to check on him and pray for him truly
blessed them. We are so thankful for a church that is willing
to pray and knows how to pray. We know that many prayers
said for him are the very reason he got up out of that bed so
soon. We know God was there with him and took care of
him. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. They didn’t
give much hope and were expecting him to be in the hospital
for a month. Through faith and prayers and the mighty
power of God they were amazed at how soon he was able to
go home. He still has some healing to do his lungs were
damaged some but he is doing so much better than expected. Thank you for showing the love of Christ in the way
you all have treated our family over the years we have been
members here. We know we have great friends here and
many of you have become like family too. Thank you to
anyone who has done anything for our family, everything has
meant so much to us and has been so appreciated. The love,
kindness and prayers given to us over the years have shown
us your devotion to loving and serving. We have felt the
presence of God in this church and we are thankful for a
church family who loves the Lord and loves others. If there
is ever anything we can do for anyone please let us know. We
serve an amazing God who has put amazing people in our
lives and we are truly grateful. God bless each one of you!
Matthew, April, Karyssa and Evan Young”
Prayer Team Africa...
Our prayer team has been praying each day for our missionaries who are leaving soon to minister in
Africa. Pastor David Powell, Casey Jennings, and Jason Jenkins leave on March 31. We would like to
keep them covered in prayer during their entire trip and ask that our congregation at Cowee Baptist
Church join with us each day to pray for their needs. Some of you may be lead to pray at specific times
through-out the day or you may be the one God wakes in the middle of the night to lift a prayer for a
specific need. Let’s all be sensitive to His call as He speaks to us to pray.
Sierra Womack will leave in April to go to Africa with Samaritan’s Purse. Please keep her in your
prayers as she prepares for her trip.
The prayer team has a specific list of requests that have been given to us by all of our missionaries and
their families. If you would like a copy of their specific requests, please send your email address to Judy
Lightner at hey_jude56@yahoo.com.
An Africa Missions Opportunity for One of Our Own...
Each year, Samaritan’s Purse selects a few dedicated
volunteers to personally deliver Operation Christmas
Child boxes to boys and girls overseas. These trip
participants experience—with all of their senses—
how each unique shoe box gift impacts the life of a
child, family, and community. They assist our international partners in equipping the local church with
evangelism opportunities, and they return empowered
to serve in their church and in the ministry of Operation Christmas Child.
This year our very own, Sierra Womack, newly
elected Children’s Ministry Dir., and dedicated OCC
Prayer Coordinator for Western NC, has been chosen
by Samaritan’s Purse to participate with an OCC trip
to Rwanda.
She will be traveling with the OCC group 4/25-4/27.
She appreciates your prayers for health, travel, finances and unity within the team, and for the people
of Rwanda that God will open their
hearts and minds to the gospel. If
you would like make a tax deductible contribution towards Sierra’s
mission, contact her directly at
sierra@coweebaptist.org, 421-4176.

The Prayer Corner by Robbie Robison...
I’ve heard many times, “I’ve prayed but
nothing happened, praying doesn’t help”.
The Bible disputes these sayings. Mathew
21:22, Luke Chapter 14, and it is recorded
in Mark as well. Jesus promised that he is
listening. The problem comes from our
impatience, we want it now and our lack of
knowledge of what Jesus expects from us.
We are adopted children of Jesus when we
accept Him as savior. He is our father, and
as a father He has the right to answer our
prayers with yes, no, you are not mature
enough for that, that’s not a need but a
want, and I have something better than
that for you.
Fathers discipline their children, but always do what is best for them. The Bibles
advice is, trust in the Father, seek His
wisdom and ways and talk to Him often
not with just your pleas but with praise,
joy, your worries, and your willingness to
wait for His timing. You will soon begin to
see answered prayer and realize how wonderful prayer is.
Please pray for our mission trips, for
safety for them, and that their efforts will
be successful for the Lord.
