Thanks for basketball help!
From Polly Deihl
I would like to thank all of the people that helped
make the basketball game a huge success.
First, a big thanks to our Sheriff Rick Ramsay,
for setting the example of community spirit and also
tipping off at the game. A big thank you to Lt Sweeney, Jill Brownlow,
Donniece Deihl, Will Kaestner, Roma Hartley & Dent
Pierce for getting out there and getting our donations and for help selling the merchandise and raffle
tickets .
I would also like to thank Capt. Age, Matthew
Age, Jamie Denton, Dempsey and his family, Lt,
Crane and his daughter Kristin, Sgt. Silvers, Tiffany,
Eugenia, Janessa and all the others that helped
make our relay for life basketball game a huge success.
This was a team effort. And thanks to all of the
fans for coming out and supporting the cause!
A great crowd, a close game and some wonderful
people who volunteered helped make the
basketball game between the Sheriff’s Office and
Key West Police a success again this year. More
photos on page 5.
Thanks for help with Easter on the
Farm!

proud of you all and your community outreach and
support. Thank you all.

Explorers and cadets have been busy. On the left,
Upper Keys Cadets met with FWC Officer Chris
Matson and learned about his responsibilities as a
state FWC Officer.
Above, Explorers attended a delegates conference
in Clay County in March. They represented
the agency well during training offered at the
event, including taking two medals in firearms
competition. Thomas Mirabella placed first
shooting 412 out of 500 in the semi-auto category;
Angel Muino placed first with a .38 caliber,
shooting 398 out of 500. Thanks to advisors Will
Schlegelmilch and Nancy Torrijos who went along
to assist with the event.

Charles Slebodnick from the Human Resources
Division represented the agency this week at a
Florida Keys Community College job fair.
Deputy Dee Torres participated in the Miami
2014 Spartan Race, which included an 8 mile run
with 20 obstacles. She said it was a lot of fun
and looking at her, I believe it! Great job, Dee!
The Vietnam Memorial traveling wall visited
Key Largo this week and many in the
Sheriff’s Office helped out with the worthy
event. Here are Reserves Paul Petek (top
left) and Ben Elmore who worked guarding
the wall over the weekend.
