1210 Annapolis Road Odenton, MD 21113 www.perrysrestaurant.com In Step at Perry’s April 2008 Volume 1, Issue 2 Welcome to the second issue of “In Step at Perry’s.” Entertaining tidbits were promised to this tabloid’s readers and, once again, this writer’s knack for eavesdropping and just being plain old nosy paid off with some very entertaining content for this issue’s cover page. Want to share a tidbit for a future issue? Just drop me a line at dancewithmickey@aol.com and add the words “Perry’s Tidbits” in the subject line. Pay Up or Mop Up ~ The attached photo of Susie mopping the floor at Perry’s is NOT a true indicator that Susie didn’t pay her tab. When you’re at Perry’s the next time, stop by Susie’s table and ask her to relay her true “mop” story; it promises to make you laugh. (P.S. Mop compliments of jokesters, John and Caroline Ratcliff!) That’s Bull ~ Nope, it’s a Bull Roast given by our own Doo Wop Jack. If you’ve never been to one before, you’re missing three things ~~ GREAT food, a great time, & great hand dance tunes spun by Jack. The bull roast will be held on April 6th; limited tickets available so contact Jack ASAP at 410-987-1119. BIG Celebration ~ Our very own special Baltimore gal, Joan Rurka, will be celebrating a SPECIAL birthday (nice way of not divulging her age!) and she’ll be celebrating it with her friends at Perry’s on Thursday, April 24th. Joanie was already informed that if she didn’t show up, we’d celebrate without her (but in her honor!) and Joanne Sinclair would fill in for the birthday dance! Don’t forget to show up, Joanie! Tiger Woods Started Young…So do hand dancers! Mo and Marie Grimes introduced their granddaughter, Kalli, to Perry’s hand dance hideaway! And another future hand dancer is born! Mo looks good with a little one in his arms, don’t you think? Grandchildren are one thing…other than that Marie said NO WAY! Fru Fru Drink & Real Men ~ Don’t let the sissy drink and the finger jutting out fool you…Butch is a REAL man in every sense of the word. And if you don’t believe me, he’ll remind you of it! Cupid Shuffle ~ Speaking of REAL men…no way could this writer convince Richard Perkins to join the ladies in the Cupid Shuffle line dance. Someone want to help me convince Richard that his manliness would not be compromised if he shuffles his butt out there and joins the ladies? Meet Perry’s Staff ~ Meet Proprietor, Kristos and two of his staff, Jo and Karen. Future issues will feature the rest of Perry’s staff who are instrumental in making our Thursday evenings truly enjoyable. Win a FREE CD ~ Join me in a trip down memory lane. Remember 45 rpm spindles, green stamps, roller skate keys, cork pop guns, drive in movies & restaurants, Topo Gigio, the Fuller Brush Man, erector sets, 15-cent McDonald hamburgers, 25-cent a gallon gasoline, Jiffy Pop popcorn, 5-cent Cokes, Brylcreem, and a 5-cent stamp? Of course, you all do! Well, the first one to contact Jack (410-987-1119 or jdfdwj@verizon.net) and tell him what U.S. President appeared on the 5-cent stamp wins a complimentary CD from Jack! My cover page will always leave you with a quote that hopefully will inspire you in some small way. “Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we’re here we should dance.” Mickie Moriarty Kristos Jo Karen
