School Council
Update
School Council is going
SOLO
This week, Year 4 and 5 members of
school council discussed our new SOLO
taxonomy success criteria. It was our job
to act as a voice for the student body to
reflect what we think is working well
with this new system and how we could
improve it. All of our feedback has been
handed over to the school, to be acted
upon!
CHALLENGE: Can you explain SOLO
taxonomy to your adults at home? Does
it help you with your learning? Let us
know!
Welcome to this week’s
update!
Thousands of people across East London are playing the
game and together you have travelled nearly more
than 25,000 miles which is over three hundred times the
length of Hadrian's Wall!
Who's in the lead?
Two weeks into the competition and St. Josephs Junior
School in Waltham Forest is still top of total points leaderboard with 71,470 points.
Meanwhile, Quwaat-Ul-Islam has climbed up to the top of the average points leaderboard with
608 points per player.
Remember, the top two teams on both leaderboards from each borough will win£500 and £250 worth
of Decathlon vouchers. Got your eyes on the prizes? Why not get your friends and family to sign up
and join your team?
Double points on a Beat Box of your choice
Fancy having a double points Beat Box outside your school? We're giving the top X teams that increase
their registered adult players by the highest proportion by 1 July the chance to pick a Beat Box of their
choice to give out double points for either a weekend or one weekday.
This is a fantastic chance to help your team gain some much-needed extra points. Be sure to get as
many new adults registered and playing by 1 July to be in with a chance to have your nearest Beat Box
give out double points.
Share your selfies to win a cuddly Beat the
Street hedgehog
You could win yourself a fantastic prize this
weekend by sharing selfies alongside our 'Loneliest
Beat Boxes'. Sadly, some Beat Boxes are not as
popular as others - show them some love by
tapping them on Saturday and Sunday and you
couldwin a cuddly Beat the Street hedgehog.
To be in with a chance of winning a cuddly
hedgehog simply post a picture of you tapping one
of our lonely Beat Boxes below to our Facebook
page on Saturday or Sunday. We will notify the
winner shortly after the competition.
Your nearest Lonely Beat Boxes are:
Hackney - Boxes 25 & 48
Newham - Boxes 148 & 240
Tower Hamlets - Boxes 167 & 168
Waltham Forest - 90 & 153

Information for Parents and Carers
Friends of London
Fields has taken social
media by storm!
Hello Parents and carers,
We’ve started up a Facebook group and Twitter feed for Friends of London Fields and we would love you to join us.
They are both great ways to keep in touch with information on fundraising events, what’s been happening at school
and useful local listings for families. We hope they’ll be particularly handy if you can’t always be at the school gates
but want to know what’s going on. We want to hear from you!
To follow us on Twitter, look for:
@folfschool
To join us on Facebook search for:
Friends of London Fields Primary School
NB. In order to follow school’s safeguarding procedure, the Facebook group is a closed group for parents and carers at school
only and everyone who joins it will need to be identified by the administrators first. The group will not post photographs of
children at school that can be identified.
