Students and parents please make a point to thank the adult crossing guards
serving the Lincoln School area.
These caring individuals help provide safe passage to and from Lincoln each
day. Our crossing guards are stationed at 17th and Felker, at 17th and
Palmetto and at 8th and Peach.
Lunch Accounts
Parents please pay attention to the balance in your child’s lunch account.
Low and negative balance notices are sent home every Friday.
Free and Reduced Lunch applications are always available in the school
office.
Interested in Volunteering or Chaperoning?
The Board of Education recognizes that certain programs and activities can be
enhanced through the use of volunteers who have particular knowledge or skills that will
be helpful to members of the professional staff responsible for the conduct of those
programs and activities. If you would like to volunteer at school or be a chaperone on
field trips you must have a background check on file with the school district.
If you are not sure if you need to update this form, we have a master list in
the school office.
Forms are available in the school office and on our School District Website.
Walk/Bike To School
Fifth grader Logan Metcalfe was one of the bicycle winners.
Congratulations Logan!
4K REGISTRATION
Four-year old kindergarten (4K) is offered through the School District of Marshfield
to all children free of charge who are four years old on or before September 1. This
program is designed as a one year preschool experience for children to attend in the
year prior to their enrollment in general kindergarten. 4K will meet Tuesday
through Friday. Half-day (AM or PM) sessions, taught by a DPI licensed instructor,
offer curriculum that is developmentally appropriate. Bus transportation is
available to rural students. Marshfield public schools have a tradition of excellence
that is verified in our test scores and the successes of our graduates. We continually
strive to implement the best programs for the youth entrusted to our care.
Remember: 4K is not a mandatory program; however, we strongly encourage it for
all children.
4K lays the groundwork for future learning by using a print rich environment that
many times increases a student’s desire for more knowledge. Success in 4K will also
create self-confidence. 4K students will learn the expectations of a “regular”
classroom which will result in a smooth transition into the all-day kindergarten
curriculum.
4K registration will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Madison Elementary
School from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. Registering on this date will give the student a better
chance of attending the 4K site in their neighborhood. Registering after this date
will not guarantee the neighborhood location. Only parents need to attend
registration, but please bring your child’s birth or baptismal certificate for
verification.
If you reside outside the School District of Marshfield, you MUST complete the Open
Enrollment Application. The Open Enrollment dates are February 1, 2016 through
April 29, 2016. Information and the online application are available at the following
website: http://dpi.wi.gov/sms/psctoc.html. For more information, please call 715387-1101, ext. 1109.
Though we realize parents prefer the neighborhood location, there are some
situations where placement may occur at another 4K location in order to achieve
equitable class size. Your child’s placement will be confirmed in a letter you will
receive over the summer. That letter will also include an invitation to attend an
open house that will help make a smooth transition to four-year old kindergarten.
You and your child will have an opportunity to meet the teacher and receive up-todate information at the open house.
