Bereits im letzten Jahr haben wir Ihnen das zu diesem Zeitpunkt völlig unbekannte Weingut in der Subskription vorgestellt. Es
wird von Laurent Vallet, dem für den Weinbau Verantwortlichen auf Château Ausone, und Séverine Grimal, die ebenfalls zur
Equipe um Alain Vauthier gehört, geleitet. Auf dem nordöstlich von Fronsac gelegenen, 5ha. großen Weingut, werden jährlich
etwa 25.000 Flaschen aus den Rebsorten Merlot (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) und Cabernet Franc abgefüllt.
Der sattpurpurne Val de Roc, der ein sehr animierendes Bukett von reifen roten Beeren und Früchten verströmt, überzeugt am
Gaumen durch seine beeindruckend klar definierte, üppige Frucht, den Eindruck saftiger Frische, die zarte Feinheit der
bestens reifen Gerbstoffe und die alles überlagernde feine Balance, die bei Weinen dieser Preisklasse sehr selten ist. Ein
schlürfmolliger Charmeur mit spannendem Finale und ein Wein für die Fälle, in denen das Gute nicht so teuer sein soll.

Château d'Agassac 2010 Subskription

Nicht nur, weil der Eigner aus der Assekuranz kommt, sind Sie bei Château d’Agassac immer gut versichert, wenn es darum
geht, einen Wein mit hohem Genusswert auszuwählen. Jean-Luc Zell, der Direktor des Weinguts, ist ein unermüdlicher
Vordenker und Vorarbeiter, so dass hier in den letzten Jahren in beachtlicher Konstanz Weine von feiner Distinktion
entstanden sind.
Der purpurschwarze Agassac, dessen fruchtbetonte Nase mineralienanimiert und von feiner Würze unterlegt ist, beeindruckt
am Gaumen durch seine sehr saftig-frische Kirschfrucht, in die sich Brombeertöne, der Hauch einer Tabak-Tee-Melange und
kühleassoziierende Steinanklänge einmischen. Die reiche Frucht wird durch das kräftige, aber sehr feingewobene
Tanningewand bestens ausgewogen und führt den Wein zu einem erfrischenden Finale von sehr guter Länge. Der Agassac
2010 gefällt besonders durch seinen sehr eigenständigen Auftritt, der keinerlei Schwächung der eigenen Textur hin zur
Gefälligkeit benötigt, um aufzufallen.

Das nördliche Médoc hat im Jahr 2010 hervorragende cabernetdominante Weine hervorgebracht, die bei günstigem Preis eine
Einlagerung sehr lohnend erscheinen lassen. Château dAurilhac ist eines jener Weingüter, das seit seiner Neubepflanzung
Mitte der 80er Jahre in schöner Regelmäßigkeit äußerst beachtliche Weine zu sehr vernünftigen Preisen an den Markt bringt.
Aktuell umfasst das Weingut von Erik Nieuwaal 21ha, von denen 16 unter Ertrag stehen. Stilistisch ist das Weingut unter den
fruchtexpressiven Modernisten einzuordnen.

In purpurschwarzer Robe steht der Aurilhac, der eine fruchtexplosive, von feiner Würze unterlegte Nase von hedonistischer
Opulenz zeigt, im Glas und flutet den Gaumen mit einem betörend frischfruchtigen, sehr animierenden Saft. Die fleischige
Frucht balanciert dabei auf einem feinen Tanningrund und spannt im Verbund mit der stützenden Säure einen
spannungsreichen Genußbogen, der in einem sehr aromatischen Finale endet. In seiner Preisklasse eine absolute Empfehlung
für alle, die Fruchtopulenz schätzen und dabei keine tiefe Terroirverwurzelung erwarten.

In den letzten Jahren hat sich Château Belle-Vue zu einem der zuverlässigsten und besten Quellen hochwertiger CruBourgeois-Qualitäten im südlichen Haut-Médoc entwickelt. So waren wir sehr gespannt, den ersten Jahrgang nach dem leider
viel zu frühen Tod von Vincent Mulliez, der die rasante Entwicklung des Weinguts durch seine weltmännische Übersicht in
Gang gebracht und befeuert hatte, zu verkosten.
Das Ergebnis gereicht seinem Andenken zu höchster Ehre, denn der präsentierte Wein zeigte sich als Ergebnis überaus
gelungener Genealogie!
Verkostungsnotiz:
Der dichtpurpurschwarze Rebsaft entfaltet im zeitgewährenden Glasschwung ein überaus aromatisches,
beerenfruchtdominantes, von feiner Holzwürze begleitetes Bouquet von saftigen Heidelbeeren, frischen Brombeeren und
fleischigen Kirschen. In mitreißender, wollüstig saturierter Fruchtattacke, die ihre konzertante Begleitung von abundanter,
feingliedriger Aromenfülle erfährt, wässert dieser mit heftiger Sinnlichkeit ausgestattete, kraftvoll und zugleich äußerst
elegante Wein den Gaumen und verwöhnt ihn mit spannungsreicher, animierend frischer Saftigkeit. In feiner Balance bringen
die frischebringende Säure, der enorme Extrakt und die feinstgewobenen Tannine einen sehr harmonischen. langanhaltenden
Genußakkord hervor.
Setzt man den Belle-Vue zu unserem anderen Haut-Médoc-Favoriten Clos du Jaugueyron in Beziehung, so überwiegt hier
(durch den mit 20% recht hohen Petit-Verdot-Anteil) die aromatische Würze, während die Terroirverwuzelung zugunsten
moderner Signatur etwas weniger ausgeprägt ist. Der Belle-Vue schafft es, geschickt auf dem Grad zwischen geschliffener,

uniformer Modernität und attackierender Würz- und Fruchtdistinktion zu balancieren. Wie immer in den letzten Jahren eine
sichere Empfehlung mit hohem Genuß-Faktor.

"One of the finest over-achievers in the southern Medoc, Belle-Vue is a 36-acre vineyard situated close to Giscours. The
2010's final blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and a whopping 20% Petit Verdot hit 13.5% natural alcohol. The
wine boasts a dense purple color along with sweet black currant, cherry, licorice and barbecue smoke notes, medium body,
supple tannins and a refined, elegant, lusty style. It is the kind of low level Bordeaux that sells for a song and will make

Superb on entry - fat and mellow. Extremely aromatic and showing good intensity on the palate. Compelling, smooth and

this 2010 the estate takes the lead among the Haut Médoc, non-classed growths. An absolute must. Well done!" ⁷

"This has a slightly disjointed nose at first, blackberry, a touch of smoke, something a little estuarine perhaps. Coalescing
nicely with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied: firm tannins, good definition, a slight powdery texture, very fine clarity and
sense of joie de vivre towards the symmetrical finish. Conservative but very well focused. Tasted March 2010." ⁵

" Ma meilleure note donnée à ce cru en primeur. C'est Philippe Moreau, le responsable du château de Pez à Saint-Estèphe, qui
est maintenant en charge du suivi de ce Haut-Médoc appartenant au groupe Roederer. 2009 est le millésime le plus réussi que
je connaisse sur cette propriété. Les vendanges ont été relativement tardives .. et le vin est composé de 47% cabernet
sauvignon, 47 % merlot, 6 % petit verdot. Vin très coloré, présentant un beau nez fruité, de type mûr. Entrée en bouche juteuse
et le vin se développe avec beaucoup de charme sur un corps juteux, du goût et des notes de prune en finale. C'est vivant,
savoureux, long et très bon. Une grande réussite du millésime. Bravo.. 2009 est le plus grand millésime de cette propriété. " ⁷
Die brillant rotschwarze Bernadotte, für die in diesem Fabeljahr Philippe Moreau von Château de Pez verantwortlich
zeichnet, verströmt opulente und sehr würzreiche Dunkelbeeraromen von Brombeeren, schwarzen Kirschen und Cassis,
begleitet von einer dezenten Rauchnote und einer Prise Exotik. Das extraktsüße Fruchtelixir gleitet in fast wolllüstiger Fülle
den Gaumen aus, bezaubernd durch die Finesse der Gerbstoffe und erfrischend durch die fleischige, sehr animierende Frucht.
In feiner Ausgewogenheit, mit sich im wiegenden Schlürfschwung dezent vertiefender Komplexität, die nun auch Kaffee- und
Schokotöne freigibt, erreicht der Wein ein Finale von elegantem Schliff und aromatischer Frische.

Verkostungsnotiz:
Der impressiv farbsaturierte Cambon La Pelouse verströmt ein sehr würzreiches, äußerst verführerisches Bouquet von
saftigen Schwarzkirschen und Brombeeren mit fein unterlegter Holzexotik. In rassigem Fluss füllt er den Gaumen und besticht
dabei durch die fast seduktiv-opulente Beerenfrucht, die ohne Mühe die dichte Tanninunterlage, die von einem feinem
Säurestrang durchzogen wird, sehr fein und elegant in Balance bringt. Im besten Sinne des Wortes ist dieser mit beachtlicher
Regelmäßigkeit reüssierende Cru ein „vin de plaisir“, dessen ausladende Frucht sich mit großem Nachdruck der Breite des
Genusshorizonts bemächtigt, ohne dabei zugleich in fundamentaler Tiefe zu gründen. Daher wird der Wein auch im ersten
Jahrzent nach der Abfüllung den höchsten Trinkgenuß bereiten. Im Sinne moderner Ästhetik ein Wein ohne Falten.

"Tasted at a negociant. Ripe blackberries and dark cherries on the nose that is tight at first and takes time to unfurl. Good
purity and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with quite thick, chewy tannins. This is a Camensac that is trying very hard, so
what it lacks in natural grace it makes up for in sheer effort and brute force. Sturdy tannins on the finish, but there is sufficient
fruit here to back it up. Not a subtle wine, but enjoyable. A second sample showed a little jamminess on the nose. Tasted
March 2010." ⁵
"Currant and mineral on the nose and palate. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a medium finish. Needs a little more fruit
concentration in the midpalate for such a top vintage – J.S." ¹⁴

"Le style du vin évolue vers davantage de densité et de puissance. Depuis quelques millésimes, la propriété a bien progressé.
Ce 2009, issu d'un assemblage 55% cabernet-sauvignon et 45% merlot, a considérablement affiné sa texture. On percoit une
très belle maturité de fruit et le côté rustigque que l'on trouvait souvent dans les vins de la propriété a disparu. La finale fait
preuve d'une très belle netteté." ⁸

"Good structure, very tight tannins, these Haut Medocs seem to be doing all they can to mimick the big guys, without realising
that most of the big guys have relaxed this year, and just let nature and fruit shine through. This is a good wine, and will have
its fans, and has a lovely finish. But not elegant enough." ¹
Der farblich satte Camensac zeigt ein zurückhaltend-feines Bouquet reifer dunkler Früchte mit leichter Raucheinlage und
feiner Holzwürze. Am Gaumen überwiegt der fleischig-saftige Fruchteindruck von Brombeeren, Cassis und hochreifen
Kirschen in einer für ein 1855 in den Adelsstand gehobenes Weingut etwas eindimensionalen Auslegung. Die Tannine sind
sehr fein, die Balance sehr gelungen, das Finale ausreichend lang. Ein solider Klassiker mit leichtem Defizit in der Spannung.
Ch. Cantemerle 2010 Subskription

In 2010, dem Jahr der großen Terroirs im Médoc, konnte sich Château Cantemerle in der Qualität deutlich absetzen von den
bereits sehr guten Cru-Bourgeois-Qualitäten im Haut-Médoc und musste sich nur (wiederum deutlich) Château La Lagune
geschlagen geben.
Verkostungsnotiz:
Der hochfarbintensive Cantemerle verströmt ein reichaltiges, reiffruchtiges, sehr klares Bukett von dunklen Beeren und
Kirschen mit feiner floraler Unterlegung und exotischer Holzwürze. Der Gaumenfluß ist druckvoll und nobel, die saftige,

optimal reife Frucht gleitet mit guter Säureausstattung auf einem eminent feingewobenen, seidigen Tanninteppich in beinahe
majestätischer Eleganz einem spannungsreichen, langen und von belebender Würze getragenen Finale entgegen. In sehr
eleganter, enganliegender Robe, die eine klar konturierte Silhouette ohne jedwede überflüssige Opulenz freigibt, ist der
Cantemerle 2010 der Inbegriff vinophiler Anmut. Kompromisslos gut, aber Geduld erfordernd.

40er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts im Besitz der Familie Nony. Wie es solche generationsübergreifenden Eignerverhältnisse
mit sich bringen, ist die Weinbereitung und die Stilistik des Weins eher traditionell. Gerade in großen Jahrgängen bereitet man
hier gerne Weine, die sogar im Konzert der geadelten Klasse sehr gut ihren Part spielen.
Verkostungsnotiz:
Der purpursaturierte Caronne Ste. Gemme entfaltet ein umwerfend feinfruchtiges, von reifen Brombeernoten dominiertes, in
umfassende Würzaromatik eingebettetes und von rauchigen Obertönen begleitetes Bukett von bourgeoiser Nobilität. Der
Gaumenfluss ist druckvoll elegant, mit einer um die mittig sehr pointierte, klare, reife Frucht fein orchestrierten Balance aus
guter Säureausstattung, feinpoliertem Tannin und kernigem Extrakt. Dabei überwiegt das Moment der Authentizität, kein
aufgesetzter Schliff stört den Eindruck natürlicher, saftiger Frische. Das Finale ist von animierendem Biss und motiviert dazu,
das Glas bald wieder an den Mund zu führen. Für mich eine echte Cru-Bourgeois-Empfehlung für diejenigen, die Cabernet
Sauvignon in klassischer Prägung zu sehr gefälligem Bugdet suchen.

Château Lanessan, dessen Geschichte schon kurz nach der französischen Revolution beginnt, ist eines jener Médoc-Weingüter,
die sich über die Jahrhunderte in Familienbesitz befinden. Diese Form der traditionellen Eignerstruktur bringt es oft mit sich,
dass die Last der Tradition den Segnungen des Zeitgeists kaum Raum zur Entfaltung lässt.
In diesem Sinne kann man die Weine dieses ein wunderschönes Pferdemuseum beherbergenden Château bis zum Jahrgang
2008 als etwas rustikal und von gröberem Schliff bezeichnen mit ausgeprägter Terroirverwurzelung. Vielleicht würde man die
Weine der jüngeren Vergangenheit am besten als etwas vermindert fruchtinspiriert klassifizieren.
Dass hier schon seit langem viel mehr möglich gewesen wäre, lässt sich leicht am unmittelbaren Nachbarn, dem in der zweiten
Klasse 1855 geadelten Saint-Julien-Klassiker Château Gruaud-Larose ermessen. Die Verantwortung für die Vinifikation lag
bis zum Jahrgang 2008 mit Hubert Bouteiller bei der Eignerfamilie und wurde mit dem Jahrgang 2009, der bereits breite
Anerkennung in der Fachwelt erhielt, auf Paz Espejo übertragen.
Verkostungsnotiz:
So verwundert es nicht, dass der tiefrubinfarbene Lanessan, der ein sehr fruchtreiches, von feiner Würze unterlegtes, sehr
reines Bouquet zeigt und am Gaumen durch seine eminente Frische, seine genuine Cabernet-Ausprägung, die Klarheit der
reifen Frucht, den seidigen Schliff der hochreifen Gerbstoffe und seine tadellose Balance sehr überzeugt, im Gewand femininer
Feinheit und animierender Verve auftritt. Ein sehr überzeugender Wein zu einem sehr fairen Preis.

den südlichen Ausläufern der Appellation Margaux, in der Gemeinde Macau, haben diese Weingüter in den letzten Jahren
jeweils hervorragende Weine in einem äußerst budgetschonenden Preissegment an den Markt bringen können. Château Mille
Roses, dessen Kreation noch knapp in das letzte Jahrhundert hineinreicht, verfügt über eine Rebfläche von etwas mehr als 9ha,
die mit im Durchschnitt 25-jährigen Reben bepflanzt sind. Das Weingut von Sophie und David Faure befindet sich gerade in
der Konversion zum Biodynamie.

"cru bourgeois exceptionell" erreicht wurde.

So wie man landläufig der Zahl drei gerne das Attribut „gut“ attestiert, so ist bei Château Poujeaux 2010 im dritten Jahr nach
dem Eigentümerwechsel von Theil zu Cuvelier alles so gut, wie man es vom Mentorenteam um Nicolas Tienpont und
Stéphane Dérenoncourt durchaus auch erwarten durfte. In Moulis ist nun das Ausrufezeichen „Grand-Cru-Qualität!“ gesetzt,
und in dem Maße, in dem ehemalige Publikumslieblinge aus der arrivierten 1855er-Galerie den Versuchungen der PreisHausse erliegen, wird sich Poujeaux zu einer ernsthaften Alternative mausern.
Verkostungsnotiz:
Das State-of-the-Art-Moulis-Monument Poujeaux 2010, das in berstend-brillanter Farbtiefe im Glas steht, zeigt ein sehr
reintöniges, von feinem mineralischen Hauch unterlegtes Schwarzbeerbukett und gute aromatische Begleitwürze. In der
erhaben-eleganten Manier beiläufiger Aristokratie durchströmt der Wein in wohlakzentuiertem, spannungsreichen Fluss den
Gaumen, die auf den Punkt reife Frucht wirkt erfrischend mit ihrem saftigen Biss und balanciert den feingewobenen
Tanningrund perfekt aus. Im Gegensatz zu 2009 ist der Poujeaux des Jahrgangs 2010 der Inbegriff zeitaktueller Authentizität,
ohne füllendes Beiwerk, ganz auf seine innere, sehr klare und reine Stilistik konzentriert. Mein persönlicher Moulis Favorit mit
großer Klasse und sehr gutem Nachhall.

Wollte man es plakativ formulieren, könnte man die Appellation Margaux als solche als Experimentierfeld für verschiedene
Weinstile bezeichnen. Einem in seiner Brillanz ohnegleichen Ch. Margaux stehen die Traditionalisten, die Ultra-Modernisten,
die Gemäßigsten und die Wechselhaft-Unentschiedenen gegenüber. Auf jeden Fall hat es in keiner Appellation in den letzten
Jahren so viel Veränderung gegeben.
Mit dem Jahrgang 2010 ist Michel Théron, der Ausnahmewinzer im südlichen Médoc, in der Lage, die Nachfrage nach seinem
Clos du Jaugueyron aus Margaux besser zu bedienen. Denn durch Zukauf konnte er die Rebfläche hier von einem halben ha.
auf 2,70 ha. erhöhen. Nun gibt es 6000 Flaschen von dieser Rarität, und entgegen unserer bisherigen Vorgehensweise, den
Wein streng limitiert zuzuteilen, sind wir nun in der Lage, Ihre Wünsche in vollem Umfang zu erfüllen.
Ginge es darum, den Wein jenseits Ch. Margaux, der idealtypisch das Wesen der Appellation verkörpert, zu benennen, dann
würde man beim Clos du Jaugueyron zum Ziel kommen – und nicht bei einem der zahlreichen hochdekorierten Cru Classé.
Auch die Margaux-Variante von Clos du Jaugueyron befindet sich in der Konversion hin zur Biodynamie.
Verkostungsnotiz:
Der brillant-purpuropake Clos du Jaugueyron entfaltet ein von feiner Würze unterlegtes Bouquet von reifen roten Beeren,
vermischt mit erdigen Noten und einem feinen Hauch mineralischer Frische. In der Klarheit und Reinheit eines quellnahen
Gebirgsbaches und mit animierendem Frischeschwung füllt der hocharomatische, auf den Punkt reife Rebensaft den Gaumen
und versetzt das gustatorische Emfpinden dabei in höchste Spannung. Mit erhabenem, nicht kraftverdichtetem Druck, in
überragender Ausgewogenheit der Attributsträger Frucht, Tannin, Extrakt und Alkohol gleitet der Margaux zu einem
langanhaltenden, reintönigen und espritreichen Finale. Es ist die Konzentration auf das Wesen eines genuinen Margaux, ohne
jede Allüre der Modernität, die dort durch Finesse und Feinheit atemberaubende Ehrlichkeit erzeugt, wo andernorts
muskelbepackte Türsteher für Aufmerksamkeit sorgen. Der Clos du Jaugueyron ist kein lauter Wein, er zerbirst nicht vor
Kraft. Man muss sich auf ihn einlassen, ihm Zeit geben, sich ganz auf ihn konzentrieren und wird mit einem Weinkosmos

Lange Zeit war Château Ferrière „das Batailley“ von Margaux: ein klassifiziertes Gewächs mit beständig guter Qualität, etwas
rustikalen Tanninen und einem sehr fairen Preis. Mit dem Jahrgang 2010 haben sich nun die Dinge deutlich dahin verschoben,
dass der spürbaren Verfeinerung der Tanninqualität auch der Preissprung über die 30-Euro-Hürde folgt.
Verkostungsnotiz:
Die ins sattpurpurne hineinreichende Farbprägung könnte dem recht hohen Anteil an Presswein geschuldet sein. Die Nase ist
von animierender Frische, in das Beerenkonzert mischen sich feine erdige Noten und flüchtiges, mineralisches Beiwerk. Am
Gaumen überzeugt die sehr klare, reine, saftig-frische, gut säuredotierte Beerenfrucht mit klassicher Cabernet-Ausprägung,
die reichlichen Tannine sind sehr reif und fein, das Finale langanhaltend und sehr elegant.

In den letzten Jahren wurde, zumeist in der Öffentlichkeit wenig bekannt, die Rebfläche der AOC Margaux leicht ausgedehnt,
womit man die doch recht zahlreichen neuen Margaux-Weine erklären kann.
Château Mille Roses, den es auch in identischer Nomenklatur in Haut-Médoc gibt, verfügt über eine Rebfläche von kanpp 4ha,
die mit im Durchschnitt 25-jährigen Reben bepflanzt sind. Das Weingut von Sophie und David Faure befindet sich gerade in
der Konversion zur Biodynamie.

Auch wenn Château Batailley in der Klassifikation von 1855 nur als „cinquième cru classé“ eingestuft wurde, steht seine
Reputation den Premiers der Appellation nicht viel nach. Vor allem durch eine sehr solide Arbeit, auch in den weniger
angesehenen Jahrgängen, und das Einhalten des richtigen Maßes bei der Preisgestaltung, hat sich das Weingut fest in den
Herzen der Weinliebhaber rund um den Globus etabliert. Wenn nun mit dem Jahrgang 2010 der Preis etwas deutlicher ansteigt,
ändert das nichts an der Einschätzung, es bei Batailley mit einem der besten Preis/Genußqualitäten in der Welt der
klassifizierten Crus zu tun zu haben. Markierte der 2009 den abschließenden Quantensprung in einer beachtlichen
Jahrgangsfolge mit immer steigenden Qualitäten, so kann man 2010 als das Jahr der Konsolidierung auf sehr hohem, dem
höchsten bisher bekannten Niveau bezeichnen.
Verkostungsnotiz:
In sattem Purpurgewand geizt der Batailley nicht mit seinen olfaktorischen Reizen, die besonders von reifen, satten
Brombeernoten, dezenter Holzwürze, einem Veilchenhauch und einer leichten Graphitnote bestimmt sind. In druckvoll-virilem,
von feiner Tannintextur gestütztem Schwung, ohne jedwedes retardierende Moment, erobert der saftig-frische, feine Extraktion
zeigende Saft von fast seduktiver Anmut, für die ein Bouquet aus Brombeeren, etwas Schokolade und roten Früchten sorgt, den
Gaumen und zeigt dabei eine überragende Balance der Komponenten Frucht, Säure, Gerbstoffe und Alkohol. Das hohe Maß
an ausgewogener Nobilität bildet dabei mit der satten Frucht und der insgesamt sehr finessenreichen Erscheinung einen feinen
Spannungsbogen, der bis in das lange, animierende, würzige Finale nachschwingt. Wiederum eine undedingte
Kaufempfehlung!

three days later than in 2009.) The alcohol level comes in at 13.5 degrees. The Batailley ’10 has quite a creamy, sensual
bouquet with macerated black fruits, a touch of crushed raspberry and a hint of vanilla pod. The definition is very fine. The
palate is medium-bodied with fine, tensile tannins, a very good sense of symmetry that was discovered with the 2009, with the

"Pontet-Canet’s 2010 harvest took place between September 29 and October 17 (this vineyard is one of the few in Bordeaux
that is fully certified as biodynamic) and the final blend was 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and the rest Cabernet
Franc and Petit Verdot that achieved nearly 15% natural alcohol. A remarkable, full-bodied effort (as was the estate’s 2009 and
2008), like so many recent vintages from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, it is of first-growth quality (some may even argue that it
eclipses several first-growths). Dense purple to the rim, it offers classic notes of creme de cassis, graphite, subtle smoke and
spring flowers. Multidimensional with massive concentration as well as vivid purity, precision and freshness, this is another
astonishing effort from an obsessive/compulsive proprietor who is doing everything right. On the downside, this 2010 will
require a decade of cellaring and should evolve for 50+ years. It will be fascinating to drink it side by side with the 2009 and

Such a vibrant colour, just jumps out of the glass. Incredibly aromatic on the nose. This is violet, plum, rosemary, black

to start with its own natural yeast, but still had no problems with late malo, and were finished by November. 80% of the overall

tannic, backward 2010 Domaine de Chevalier seemed primary and difficult to assess when I tasted it on three separate O
occasions. The natural alcohol is 13.5% from a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot. A T
youthful inky/blue/purple color is opaque to the rim and the nose offers elegant aromas of crushed rocks, acacia flowers,
boysenberries, black currants and subtle toast as well as oak. This thick, rich, tannic, backward wine will require patience. I
would guess 7-10 years of cellaring will be essential, but this is a 30- to 40- year wine." ⁶

Das Nasenspiel des in elegisches schwarzpurpur gewandeten Roc de Cambes 2010, der ein überaus würdiger Nachfolger des
legendären Jahrgangs 2009 ist, eröffnet mit einer ansatzlos auflodernden Bouquetblüte aus reifen Pflaumen, saftigen
Heidelbeeren und säurefrischen Brombeeren, mit pulsierender Würzaromatik, feiner Edelholzwürze, Tabak- und Kaffeenoten
und leitet über zu einer beeindruckend prägnanten Ingaumennahme der druckvoll-rassigen, betörend dichtfruchtigen,
hedonistisch-süffigen Fruchtkomposition aus roten und schwarzen Beeren, aus der dunkle Kirschen und Johannisbeeren
herauslugen, über. Die süße, mit guter Säurebetonung unterlegte komplexe Frucht, die eine exorbitant feinmaschige
Würzeskorte nach sich zieht, wird von einem feinen Minzeton pointiert und verzweigt sich in immer tiefere Schichten distinkter

"One of the best-run estates in the underrated and undervalued appellation of Cotes de Castillon is Chateau d’Aiguilhe, which
is owned by Stephan von Neipperg. As with all of von Neipperg’s wines, Stephane Derenoncourt is the consulting winemaker.
The blend is usually 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, although I did not see the statistics on this particular vintage. The
2010 (10,000 cases produced) achieved 14% natural alcohol from modest yields of 34 hectoliters per hectare. It exhibits a deep
ruby/purple hue, lots of cassis, crushed rock and floral characteristics, a round, generous, savory, broadly textured style and
sweet tannins. Drink it over the next decade." ⁶
"Dense and structured, with a slightly brooding feel to the coffee, dark plum and fig paste notes. But the flesh is round and
supple, and the finish long and enticing, with a nice chalky streak waiting to emerge. Should come together well enough." ¹⁴

Stéphane Derenoncourt ist unter den "flying winemakern" in Bordeaux eine Instanz, die man sogar weit entfernt noch zu Rate
zieht. Als Gütesiegel seiner Arbeit würde ich den besonders feinen Schliff, den er auszuführen versteht, sehen. Mitunter
überlagert jedoch die stilistische Selbstverliebtheit die Topographie, was naturgemäß identitätsschmälernd wirkt.
Die Domaine de l'A, die in Sainte-Colombe in den Côtes des Castillon liegt, ist das eigene Weingut des Meistermachers. Groß
und bekannt wurde Stéphane Derenoncourt durch seine önologische Arbeit in den Gefilden des Grafen Neipperg, dessen
Château d'Aiguilhe jedenfalls nicht immer auf Höhe des Derenoncourtschen Weinguts reüssiert.
Qualitativ ist die Domaine de l'A zusammen mit Clos Louie, Clos Puy Arnaud und der mitjavillschen Domaine de l'Aurage im
Spitzensegment der an guten Weingütern nicht armen Appellation zu sehen.

made at Domaine de l’A. Yields were remarkably small (20 hectoliters per hectare) and everything about this wine delivers

reichhalte Würzarmoen integrieren. Am Gaumen gefällt die sehr klare und äußerst reine Frucht, die von dezenten Erdtönen
und floralen Noten begleitet wird. Der mittelgewichtige Rebsaft ist auf hohem Niveau fein ausbalanciert und überzeugt mit
einem animierenden, feinwürzig-frischfruchtigen Finale.

Château Bourgneuf ist eines jener Pomerol-Weingüter, das vom Libourner Handelshaus Jean-Pierre Moueix exklusiv
vertrieben wird. Das wiederum steht meist synonym für klassisch vinifizierte, traditionelle Weine. Aber Vorsicht, Bourgneuf
2010 ist eine überraschende Offenbarung!
Verkostungsnotiz:
Der opakpurpurne Bourgneuf, der so monumental im Glas steht, verströmt schon beim langsam kreisenden Glasschwung
überaus weitläufig-ausladende, wunderbar komplexe Noten reifer dunkler Beeren, in die sich dezente Edelholznoten, ein
Hauch Erde und feine Würze mischen. In druckvollem, saftig-frischem, üppig-reiffruchtigen Beerenfluss füllt dieser Pomerol
mit ungewohnter Rasse den Gaumen aus hält die Rezeptoren mit seiner animierend wuchtigen Frische und aromatischen
Fleischigkeit in Spannung. Trotz einer gewissen Kraftfülle gleicht der Gaumentanz auf feingewobenen Tanningrund dem
beinah schwerelosen Fingersturm des Pianisten bei Chopins Etüden. Der beste Bourgneuf der an Reüssiten nicht armen letzten
Jahre.

at first, but there is a very fine sense of mineralité here, well defined and tightly wound. The palate is medium-bodied with
smooth tannins, hints of dark chocolate on the entry and touches of dark cherry. It displays brittle but fine tannins, crisp and
focused towards the finish. This is an admirable Chateau Bourgneuf made by Fréderique Vayron. N.B. A second bottle that

Schon das Lesen des Namens Lafleur-Gazin benetzt die Zunge, setzt die Assoziation an die illustren Nachbarn doch die
dürstende Phantasie in Gang! In der Tat ist die Rebfläche wie eine Enklave eingebettet in die Besitztümer höherer
Weinbergskunst vorbehaltener Götterlieblinge. Gleichwohl, setzt man den Preis als relationale Größe hinzu, steht die Religion
schnell auf dem Kopf.

Die sehr aromatische, überaus reine und klare Beerenfruchtnase des in mittlerem Rubin stehenden Lafleur-Gazin ist die
olfaktorische Ouvertüre zu einer Gaumenoper, die durch ihr rassig-fleischiges Pflaumen-Brombeerpotpourri, die schwungvollelegante Balance auf dem dichten und feingewobenen Tanningrund und die hormonisch begleitende Säure bis hin zum
ausgeprägt langen Finale einen animierenden Spannungsbogen bietet, der an den Pylonen Finesse und Frische fest verankert
ist. Ein feiner Pomerol-Wurf unter der 30-Euro-Hürde.

Sowohl in der Neubennenung des Weinguts mit dem Bezug auf die Großmutter im Suffix als auch im Design des Etiketts
dokumentieren Christian Moueix und sein Sohn Eduard den Willen zur kompromisslosen Zäsur. Während Château Belair
unter Pascal Delbeck ein verstaubter Exot mit besten Anlagen war, haben seit dem Eigentümerwechsel im Jahr 2008 die
moueix’schen Markenzeichen Finesse und Eleganz – und nicht zuletzt: stilsicherer Auftritt Einzug gehalten und verorten den
Wein nun dorthin, wo er nach seiner Herkunft unbedingt gehört: in die hohe Klasse der Saint-Emilion-Aristokratie.
Die Reben sind nun im Schnitt 63 Jahre alt, und aus dem zum Großteil am Südhang des Kalksteinplateaus gelegenen 12,2 ha
Rebland, das zu 85% mit Merlot und zu 15% mit Cabernet Franc bestockt ist, werden im Schnitt etwa 15.000 Flaschen
gewonnen.
Verkostungsnotiz:
Der brillant-dichtpurpurne Belair-Monange, dessen olfaktorische Offenbarung die distinguierte Aura eines ebenso
zurückhaltenden wie schwerbelesenen „homme de lettre“, der das, was er sagen könnte, nicht in sprudelnden Wortcascaden,
sondern in wohlintonierter Sprachabwägung äußert, trägt, verblüfft mit einer sehr reintönigen, dezente Beerenfruchtanklänge
zeigenden, aber vor allem die mineralische Grundnote seines Terroirs überwältigend zum Ausdruck bringenden Nase von
nobler Rasse. Fast schwerelos, in der Manier gleitender Eleganz, durchmisst der eminent klarfruchtige, von seidig-feiner
Tanninunterlage getragene, superb steinassoziierte Saft den Gaumen und macht ihn dabei zu einem Resonanzraum
substantieller Reinheit und schnörkelloser Verve. Auch wenn der Wein wahrscheinlich nie das Wesen der Perfektion
verkörpern wird, ist er doch eine idealtypische Ausprägung großer Kalksteinterroirs und in seiner wesensimmanenten
Konzentration authentischer als der nicht weite große Nachbar Ausone. Wie kein zweiter Saint-Emilion dokumentiert BelairMonange den Reichtum der Askese. Einzigartig und äußerst beachtlich!

"This tiny estate was in the qualitative doldrums for decades, but it has been resurrected by Christian Moueix and his son,
Edmond, over the last few years and the 2010 ranks alongside the brilliant 2009. Two-thirds of this vineyard is planted on the
pure limestone hillsides and the rest is on the Plateau of St.-Emilion. One parcel, over 100 years of age, produces a minuscule
5-10 hectoliters per hectare. The 2010, primarily Merlot, boasts a dense purple color as well as raspberry fruit notes intermixed
with a liqueur of powdered rocks. With abundant fruit, minerality, size, substance, personality and extraordinary individuality,
this stunningly concentrated St.-Emilion is a tour de force in great winemaking. It will need 4-5 years of cellaring and should

and classical than most of its peers elsewhere. Dry finish with good balance though clearly quite a lot of alcohol. The tannins
are definitely present. This is much less dense than the more caricature style of this appellation." ⁹

Nicht zu Unrecht nährt die Bezeichnung „Clos“ die Vermutung, dass es sich bei Clos La Madeleine um ein kleines Weingut,
dessen Weinberge überdies von einer Mauer umfrieded sind, handelt. Lange schlief dieses nur 2.2ha. kleine Gut, dessen
Rebanlage auf Terrassen an der Südflanke des Kalksteinplateaus von Saint-Emilion zwischen Château Madeleine und Château
Bélair-Monange, beides immerhin Prémier-Grand-Cru-Classé-Weingüter, liegen, seinen Dornröschenschlaf.
Erst seitdem Hubert de Boüard, der Miteigentümer von Château Angélus, die Beratung übernommen hat, werden hier
erstaunliche Weine bereitet. Die 2010er Probe braucht dabei kaum einen Vergleich mit renommierten Cru-Classé-Gütern zu
scheuen.
Verkostungsnotiz:
In satter Purpurrobe verströmt der Clos La Madeleine aromenangereicherte, dominant schwarzbeerige Fruchtnoten von hoher
Distinktion, in die sich ein Lakritzehauch, Steinnoten und feine Holzwürze mischen. In noblem Fluß, der seine Klasse zuerst
aus der Reinheit der saftig-fleischigen Beerenfrucht erfährt, und sehr elegantem, aber auch druckvollem Schwung, gleitet der
grandios mineralienassoziierte, zugleich würzig wie frische Saft den Gaumen in majestätischer Leichtigkeit aus mit genügend
Schub für ein animierend würziges, mineralisch frisches Finale von feinem Esprit.
In jeder Hinsicht eine Entdeckung mit hohem inneren Wert.
