New Construction Project At Barneveld Legion Hall
Monument To Your Veterans And Family Members
Take a Bite Out of Cancer
at Culver’s on March 3
Below is in "artists rendering" of the monument presently under construction in the Barneveld
American Legion parking lot. It is being built to pay tribute to the veterans in our area or for a friend
or relative or for yourself. Also a great way for you or your business to express support of veterans.
What a great way to honor those past and present that served in the military.
Engraved memorial pavers will make up the patio in front of the monument.
Please consider adding to our paver project.
BARNEVELD LEGION VETERAN MONUMENT PROJECT
Culver’s of Mt. Horeb, is kicking off
this year’s Take a Bite Out of Cancer
(TABOC).
On Thursday, March 3, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., the
restaurant will donate a percent of its food and beverage sales to the Relay For Life of Mt. Horeb.
This evening will also serve as a kick off for Mt. Horeb’s 2016 Relay
season. From 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m., attendees can learn more about
the upcoming Relay, register their teams, and meet the Relay For
Life Event Leadership team.
Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who
have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against
the disease. This year’s Relay For Life of Mt. Horeb will be held from
6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22 until 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 23 at
Grundahl Park. For more information, contact Theresa Buechner at
608-225-4386.
view from parking lot
We are looking for additional orders for pavers for our veterans monument.
We have scheduled a dedication ceremony for May 21, 2016 and are looking for any
new orders for placement before that time. Order forms are available at the Legion
Hall or at the bank. You may also call Fred or Vicki Theobald at 608–712–1312
for any additional information or pricing.

THANK YOU
The family of John Brown would like to thank our
friends and neighbors for all the cards, food, flowers, prayers and support. Thank you to all who cut
wood when John couldn't. He was so surprised and
happy for your help. It gave him many warm days
and nights when he didn't feel well.
Our sincere thanks for the great bunch of guys that
came in took our corn out. John could hear the machinery rolling. It gave him peace to know the corn
was out and that he had friends that care enough to
help him. We appreciated all the help that came to
help ship the cows and bull. You will never know
how much it meant to us. Thank you all so much!
A special thank you to Tony Kirch, Vernon Massey,
Greg Oimoen, and Don Parent for your farming
knowledge and support when we needed it.
We want to thank Ken Von Ruden at Dodgeville
Agri-Service for all of his kindness. Our gratitude
to Shawn Timmens for keeping the drives open and
all the help he has given.
Agrace, we thank you for your help and care in
John's final days.
God bless you all,
Linda, Kurt, Dawn, Levi and Parker

his week’s senior profile is Molly Malin. Molly is a fun, outgoing senior who can brighten up any room she is in. She works at Hooterville in Blue Mounds as a cook’s assistant
and dishwasher. She has also played basketball
all four years of high school, and is sad to see
the season flying by. When asked what her favorite part of high school has been, Molly said
that she loved seeing all of her friends that she
doesn’t regularly get to see outside of school.
Her favorite subjects and classes are English
classes because her teachers taught her how to
prepare for college. After high school, she plans
on living at home while attending MATC for
human services. All of Barneveld High School
wishes Molly the best of luck in her future.

Twenty-five finely tuned Barneveld High School
mathletes rose to the challenge of taking the
long journey to Juda to compete in the 8th annual Conference Math Meet on Wednesday
February 17th. There were almost two hundred students competing in this year’s challenge. Tensions were high as the host school
always seems to be the team to beat. The
mathletes performed, discussed, and debated
as they performed a mental math challenge,
an individual challenge, and a team challenge.
Five thousand six hundrend math problems
later, the Juda Panthers clawed their way to
the top prize. The mathletes did not come
home empty handed; however, Ewan Harlow
received a 2nd Team All-Conference Medal
for his performance at the event. Congratulations to Ewan and to all of the Barneveld
Mathletes on an outstanding day of math!
