It is my sincere hope that this circular finds you in good spirits especially when we are less than a week before we celebrate the love of God to humankind through the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour on Christmas day and for blessing us abundantly in 2014. 1 UCCZ CYF 2014 Overview The year 2014 will be remembered as one of the most challenging but historically important year in the life of the UCCZ CYF Council. We started the year with a number of challenges but closed it with tangible hope attributable to the consolidation of reform processes of the Council. A successful National AGM was held in Harare, at Belvedere Technical Teachers College, Urban Regions RAGM was held at Luveve High School and the Highlands Save Valley RAGM was hosted at Gedion Mhlanga which were all Spiritually uplifting. 2 (a) UCCZ CYF National Executive President Tellme Madidi Vice President Morgen Mhlanga Matsiya Secretary Nathaniel Mabhumbo Vice Secretary Bernard Tondhlana Treasurer Raymond Mhlanga Vice Treasurer Thelma Mukuruva Moyo Advisor Mai T.P. Four of the five Regions elected “Mother Advisors” to held the Regional Youth and local CYF Advisors with valuable advice. Groups are therefore requested to fully support regional programmes initiated in their regions for the betterment of the CYF Council. 3. 2014 CYF Analysis Records The National Executive is pleased to inform you all that a draft CYF Analysis Record will be circulated by mid-January 2015. All groups are kindly requested to communicate with the National Treasurer and the National Secretary or any member of the National CYF Executive to make sure correct amounts and names are captured accurately. 4. 2015 National Council Meeting Invitation and Details The National Executive is kindly inviting all groups to send delegates to the National Council Meeting of the CYF Council to be held in Mutare from the 28th February 2015 to the 1st of March 2015. Active Voting Members of the UCCZ in the 2014 Church Analysis Records and 2014 CYF Analysis Records will qualify to be delegates. Each Church CYF group is entitled to be represented by at most seven delegates. Delegates and Observers will pay a registration fee of $7 each. Each group is encouraged to travel with their Church Ministers and Advisors to this very important Council Meeting. 5. National Pledges The 2014 UCCZ CYF Financial year started on the 1st of February 2014 and will close on the 31st of January 2015. All CYF members (Advisors and Senior Friends included) are kindly reminded and urged to pay their National Pledges of $12 for non-working members (those in High School) and $30 for working members (those out of High School). May all Church CYF Leaders contact the National Treasurer Brother Raymond Mhlanga or any member of the National Executive to submit their 2014 group pledges by the 31st of January 2015. 6. CYF T/Shirts, Badges, 1/3 Harambe & Other Fundraising Programmes The National Treasurer and the CYF Harambe Organiser (Vice President Morgen Matsiya) are reminding all CYF members that CYF T shirts are being sold at $7 each and CYF Badges are being sold at $5 each. All groups are also reminded to remit 1/3 of the total fundraising income generated at Church CYF Group level to the National CYF Treasury. A number of fundraising programmes are earmarked in 2015 and they need our collective support. Payments can be deposited into the CYF Bank Account. The account name is CYF Council of UCCZ - Standard Chartered Bank- 8700 2673 80400 - Mutare Branch. CYF ‘Chiredzi AGM’ branded Golf Shirts are also in stock at a discounted fee of $6 each. 7. Constitutional Alignment and Review The National Executive was tasked by Synod to urgently align the CYF Constitution with the UCCZ Constitution, and to amend some provisions which were found to be the source of CYF problems. A draft Amendment was adopted by the CYF National Executive and is circulated here as an attachment to this circular for exhaustive consultation in groups. Please kindly read through and input where there is room (on areas which were not decided upon by the Synod Executive Committee), through any member of the National CYF Executive. Consultative and Explanation workshops will continue to be held in all regions. 8. School Fees Assistance to Orphans We are pleased to inform you that the CYF Council started paying school fees for two orphans who are at Daisy Dube Mt Selinda Orphanage the third term of 2014. Our plan as a leadership is to look after the educational welfare of the two orphans until they complete their ordinary levels, financial resources permitting. 9. 2015 CYF Outlook We are planning to have an eventful year filled with spiritually uplifting programmes and fellowship events. The year will start will Constitutional Reform Workshops, the National Council Meetings, Easter programmes, the 40th Anniversary of the CYF Council, the National AGM, Regional AGMs and supported weddings among other programmes. We are also planning to renovate and put a ceiling to our CYF House at 1311 Gaza Township, Chipinge. We are therefore kindly asking CYF groups, ministers and all concerned brethren to send to the Youth Minister or the National CYF Secretary their proposed theme for 2015, texts and guest speakers for the National AGM to be adopted at the National Council Meeting. 10. Conclusion It is my prayerful hope that we will all work together in different capacities for the betterment of our beloved council, meditating on the Word as in Philippians 4v6 – “Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray about everything, tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank him for his answers.” In His Divine Service Tellme Madidi UCCZ CYF President 2014 - 2016
