Pentecost Sunday
Happy Birthday to the Church Today! Everyone is encouraged to wear
red (symbolic of the special presence of the Holy Spirit) for Pentecost—which
is considered to be the birthday of the Christian Church.
Welcome to Community Presbyterian Church! Each week we are privileged to
have new people attending worship for the first time, and we want you to feel
welcome among us. Following the service please join us in Teddy’s Hall for
fellowship and refreshments.
Today we welcome Rev. Dr. Mike Jacobs, once again, to our pulpit. Mike is
leading our worship today while Pastor Rob is attending continuing Education.
The Adult Education Class meets at 9:30 am in the Mt. Room. They are
studying an 8-week series on the Sermon on the Mount. This is found in
Matthew 5, 6 & 7 and consists of the essence of Christ’s teachings.
Free Blood Pressure Screenings, in the Wellness Office, 10:00-11:00 only.
Equal Exchange Fair Trade Coffee will be sold today in Teddy's Hall. The church
kitchen could use a donation of Fair Trade Fellowship Blend coffee if you would like
to purchase some that would be used during the after-worship fellowship time.
Sign up to Loan or Purchase supplies needed for the Youth Mexico
Mission trip. Please look over the list of needs that will be passed around
during the service. Some items, like shovels, can be returned to you.
CPC’s Biblical Seminar will meet today at 5:00 PM. Dr. Nastari will be
dealing with the concepts of the Holy Spirit and the Trinity. All are welcome.
If You Brought Food to CPC lately for a service, in your own dishware,
please check the pile of dishes that have been left behind in Teddy’s Hall.
All Team Chairs ~ Church Calendar If you are planning any activity or
event involving the church family--all dates for upcoming events should be
confirmed with the church’s master calendar. Please call the office at 541-5483367, so that conflicts in activities, and use of church building space, can be
kept to a minimum.
Donations to Nepal Disaster Relief can be given through the Presbyterian
Church by writing a check to CPC (Community Presbyterian Church) and
writing Nepal DR999999 on the memo line. Then it will be sent to the national
office. There are flyers on the lobby table with more info.
Sports Team T-Shirt Sunday At both worship services on Sunday, June 7,
everyone is invited to wear their favorite sports team jersey or shirt displaying
the college that they support. Come share your pride in your team!
Scrub a dub dub, let's get your car covered in suds! The next Youth
sponsored car wash will be held on Sunday, June 7, during both first and
second services. All proceeds from the car wash will go toward the Youth
Mexico Mission Trip and other camps. For more info contact Michelle Duff.
Paint Your Heart Out Do you know of a senior citizen or disabled
homeowner in our church or community that would benefit from getting a
new coat of paint for their house? Applications are available on the table in the
lobby and are due back at CPC by June 30.
If you want to help paint a house on the big paint day, reserve the
morning of Saturday, July 18, on your calendar.
CPC Parking Lot Sale ~ Mark the dates of August 13 & 14 for our Parking
Lot Sale and please save your good unwanted items for donation to the sale.
