Lebanon the Festival: A Trip to the Golden Period and a Salute to its Pioneers
With marking memories of wonderful artistic achievements,
plays and songs, we knew the golden world of art for they became its
pioneers. Thanks to them, the Lebanese song, as words and music,
reached high levels and strived to equal the world art in its creativity and
radiance. They fascinated the hearts with their sensitive feelings and delicate taste.
Today, Tele Lumiere salutes with great respect their immortal
artistic achievements through “Lebanon the Festival” program that
goes back to the Rahbani’s period, Feyrouz’ voice,
Shahroura’s chant, and Safi’s distinctive performance, in a special
evening with the prominent Lebanese artist Dr. Wadih Safi
who will remind us with his strong voice and humble soul of his
wonderful chants throughout generations, with his son the Artist
Antoine Safi and Raji Haddad. Scenes of Rahbani’s plays greeting cedars from Lebanon, Feyrouz and Sabah, will be revived
by the Artists Ayda Chalhoub and Nadine al-Barouki who will
present, during the evening, wonderful golden songs.
Tele Lumiere that organizes and covers “Lebanon
the Festival”, this event becoming an annual tradition and honoring the singer of all generations, Maestro Wadih Safi, who will be with you, Sunday September 18th at 9h pm at the municipality square of
Jounieh, invites you to this traditional and national beautiful, artistic and intellectual evening reflecting Lebanon the peace, culture, joy and
hope, through the festival that whispers to the past, filling the present with dignity, originality, and the noble affiliation that is always embodied in the Lebanese song.
It is important to note that everybody is invited with free entry.
Lebanese People to Cana
Cana is a Hebrew term meaning the place of canes. It is Cana of Galilee mentioned in the Bible, the
Lebanese village where Jesus made his first public miracle in the wedding feast turning the water into wine, and
healed then the son of the king’s servant. It is as well the hometown of Nathaniel, one of the 12 apostles mentioned
by St John the Evangelist (John 1: 13-51). This holy land was indicated by historians and evidence were spread
affirming that this site is related to this great event according to “the Church
historian Eusebius in the 3rd Century and St Jerome Jeronimos in the 4th
century, based on the Bible texts and the vestiges of the 1st Christians engraved on the rocks of “Khachna” near Cana of Galilee” the Patriarch
Maximos V Hakim said. Also the Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros
Rai considered that “it becomes a religious truth and cultural value in which
the Muslims and Christians participate; with the intercession of the Virgin
Mary, Jesus enters the empty life of humanity and turns it into joy and feasts.
“The hour has come” so that the Lebanese people respond to Mary’s call to
be part of the Heaven’s feast.”
Honoring the Virgin Mary, on Her birthday, the statue of Our Lady
of Cana is unveiled at Cana of Galilee on Sunday September 11th. Made of resin mixed to fiberglass, the statue can
resist to the natural factors.
The 2.30m statue has a base of natural rocks and is 1.30 meters high.

Encyclical of the
Pontifical Council
for Social
Communications
on the Church and
the Internet
The Church’s attention to the internet expresses particularly
her long-term interest in the social media that seems sometimes strange regarding the Christian mission, but it offers
unique occasions to declare the Christ’s salvation truth to
the entire humanity. Therefore, this encyclical mentions the
internet’s opportunities and challenges in addition to the
Church’s recommendations to her children with all their
categories

Heart

words that are used in many occasions and
explains their human dimensions, spiritual
impact and contribution spreading peace and
good relations among people, as they are
the keys to heart . Do we assume the responsibility of our words or we
express them as pure compliments?
Pope Ignacio, Patriarch of
Alexandria on the Holy See of St
Mark the Apostle (68- 83)
He succeeded St Mark the Evangelist
the 1st Patriarch on the Church of Alexandria who taught him about Jesus and the
Christian duties and made him his successor. Then, he preached the parishioners and baptized them secretly, support them and strengthen their faith in
Christ. Later on, he turned his home into a church and it is known by the
church of St Mark the Martyr that is replaced now by St Mark Church,
Alexandria.
Be careful son that your cause is no
longer:
- By sectarianism but generality
- By theory but by practice
- By constraint but by freedom
- By self-interest but by common target
- By the way but by love
