Recap of Recent Events
Joe Paterno If you missed Joe Paterno at the
Radisson Penn Harris June 9, he is very optimistic
about this year’s squad. He likes the talent, but he
needs to see some leaders step up. Stay informed
at:http://www.alumni.psu.edu/events.
Golf Outing
It was such a huge success that a
review seems in order. A record amount of money,
$4800, was raised. More golfers and dinner guests
attended this event than any other Club sponsored golf
outing. And Tom Bradley was a big hit.
Special thanks to golf committee chair Jen Risser. Her
organizational skills and enthusiasm were evident. Our
corporate sponsors were phenomenal. Madison
Apartment Group sponsored Tom Bradley. M&T Bank
sponsored the dinner, and Wheatland Credit Union
sponsored our beverage cart. Their help was key to
making this event the best one yet. No pressure for
next year, right!
Speaking of next year, the outing will again be at
Groff’s Farm on Friday May 9th. Stay tuned for details.
Chapter Service Project
Jenn Spade is
spearheading our efforts with the Daughters of the
American Revolution in their support of the Pastoral
Services Department at Landstuhl Regional Medical
Center.
We’ve sent our first shipment to Germany and a big assist
goes to The Jay Group for the “tons” of items that they
donated. We have eight more boxes ready to go, but we
want to do more. To see how you can help, contact Jenn
at ( 6 1 0 ) 2 7 3 - 7 9 5 0 or email her
at
hjspade@spade.com.
Relay For Life
Team Roaring For a Cure raised
over $9,000 at Catholic High last month to help with
the fight against cancer. This team consisted of
members, past and present, of the Penn State Lancaster
Club. According to Club President Glenn Bissinger, the
event at Catholic High is one of the top fund raising
events for Relay for Life in the country.
