Sponsored by: Socks by Melissa Deutsch Scott Fingers & Toes Challenge See the gorgeous knitted, crocheted and felted entries in the Fingers and Toes Challenge. Expertise Events & ArtWear Publications teamed up to offer knitters, crocheters and feltmakers the opportunity to have their work exhibited in a touring display, and be in the running to win great prizes. Themed ‘Fingers and Toes’, the exhibition will feature entrants’ handmade work, including gloves, mitts, socks and slippers. Prizes include cash, vouchers, gift baskets and lots of lovely yarn and fibre. See the display and vote for your favourite Fingers and Toes entries. Sponsored by: Fibre Artists’ Work a Firm Favourite Delight in an extraordinary display by The Western Australian Fibre and Textile Association. Their exhibit is called In-Tension and the theme ‘architecture’. Members were invited to create a design that was ‘black, white and bold’ and the results are spectacular. The brief was a deliberate direction as WAFTA wanted this exhibition to be very different from the natural fibres and muted colours represented in its previous “Naturally” exhibition. In contrast, the artists were encouraged to think hard edges, geometry, bold lines, Mondrian and so on. During the exhibition, WAFTA members will be available to talk to visitors and explain the techniques used in creating these works of textile art.
