Upon completion of its 2015-16 program year on June 30, ESOL enrollment reached 164 students – more than doubling its participant total of 77 from ’14-15. The Strasburg Saint John Church of Christ served as a temporary site last fall and winter. ESOL students enrolled with Buckeye ABLE/GED have a yearly goal of improving their reading level and English speaking skills, with math, science, socials studies/citizenship, technology, and workplace and financial literacy also incorporated into their studies. Classes are offered two mornings and two evenings a week at each site, with new student orientations held seasonally at the First Moravian Church of Dover.
