“FAITH CORNER”
By her faith, Mary accepted the Angel’s word and believed the message she was to become the Mother of
God . . . (Lk 1:38). While visiting Elizabeth, she raised
her hymn of praise to the Most High for the marvels he
worked in those who trust him (Lk 1:46-55). With joy
and trepidation she gave birth to her only son, keeping
her virginity intact (Lk 2:6-7). Trusting in Joseph, her
husband, she took Jesus to Egypt to save him from
Herod’s persecution (Mt 2:13-15). With that same faith,
Mary followed the Lord in his preaching and remained
with him all the way to Golgotha (Jn 19:25-27). And
again by faith, Mary tasted the fruits of Jesus’ resurrection, and treasuring every memory in her heart (Lk 2:19,
51), she passed them on to the Twelve assembled with
her in the Upper Room to receive the Holy Spirit (Acts
1:14; 2:1-4).
During this month of May, the month of Mary, take
time to recite the rosary…at home or at our monthly recitation at St. Adalbert Church so that by faith, you may
rediscover and reflect on your act of faith which brings
you closer to Mary’s son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
East Catholic High School will give a make-up entrance
exam Thursday, May 5th, at 8:00 AM to all eighth graders who were unable to take the preceding exams. The
exam will be given at the school. Pre-registration is recommended but not required. A non-refundable fee of $25
is required. ECHS continues to accept transfer students
from other high schools. Questions? Contact the Admissions Office at 860-649-5336 ext. 6238 or 6456.
