Bill Hutchinson got the last fence
location spotted by one of our new
members. Things are drying up and
we should be able to work on the
fence project soon, be prepared for a
call.
I am working on updating online registration to
be open by August 1st.
Two options.
Renew online
Need NRA number.
Pay online.
TCGC provides the labor and
material for the wood frames for it's
members to mount their targets on.
Since the wood frames are being
shot up so bad it makes sense that
the shooters aren't getting any better
at their aiming. The thought is to
help our members shoot better to be
able to protect themselves, TCGC
might not provide these frames and
the members would bring their own
and then their aiming would improve.
Keep receipt for proof.
Download renewal application and
Range Safety Rules, bring to Mandatory Renewal Meeting.
Renew at Membership Meeting.
Must have NRA number to renew.
Bring Payment, Renewal Application.
2. Bring receipts to Mandatory Renewal Orientation.
Badges will be issued at end of Orientations.
Badges are for access to the range in 2016.
Friends of NRA has a 20quart YETI
cooler they are raffling, only 75
tickets will be sold at ten dollars
each, around 45 left, There will be
other items also, come to the next
membership meeting to get tickets
and support Friends of NRA.
New this year, we are taking optional donations
for the Gene Adkisson Scholarship fund. $5 or
other amount.
We have nineteen members that need to contact me with their NRA number. The purpose is
to show we are 100% NRA members for the
purpose of applying for grants. Please email to
vicepresident@tricitygunclub.org.
Thanks goes to all our workers and
volunteers for their time and the EC
for theirs.
Mandy Berry, Troy Berry, Richard Cottle, Chris
Craft, Beau Dean, Sallye Glover, Brian Herb,

Trap and Skeet Orientation for Club Members !
August 12th from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. $25.00
for Key. No Credit Cards
NEW NSSA Shotgun News!!!
Tri-City Gun Club has registered NSSA Shotgun
Targets.
http://www.nssa-nsca.org
Handguns on the Short Range: Handguns are no longer
allowed on the Short Range due to ricochets. Sanctioned
matches with RSOs will still be allowed. Handguns can be
used on the Pistol Range and Long Range.
Any club member that would like to register their skeet
targets with the NSSA can do so by keeping track of their
scores. They have to shoot either 50 or 100 target increments. They must be NSSA members. They will have to turn
in their score sheets and fees to me by the end of the month.
A group of us are doing this for lifetime achievements and
other awards through the NSSA. Join now. First year free .
Release Triggers for Shotguns: Shotgun Shooters are permitted to shoot a shotgun with a release-type trigger. To do
so, all members of the squad must be notified. Guns with
release-type triggers must be clearly marked with designated NSSA approved red safety stickers. If a member of the
squad or the referee is concerned about the safety of the
release trigger they may request the release trigger shooter
fire the round individually. Only club members are allowed
to shoot shotguns with release triggers except during a
sanctioned match. Release triggers in rifles and pistols are
prohibited.
Safety Tip of the Month: Heat and Mosquitoes: Members are reminded to be sure and be properly hydrated
when they come to the Range. As summer continues, so will
the heat and risk of heat injuries. The Stat House is available as a cool place and a water cooler is available. The
mosquitoes are still very active and, as previously noted,
they are huge.

we can meet at the Range. All you need to do is identify it.
Be safe and shoot straight, make sure your bullets impact

MEMBER-AT-LARGE
Hope everyone has had a good summer! The following proposal by a member is still in its infancy and was just introduced a
few hours ago, so many details are missing:
We're looking at moving the berm on the Short Rifle Range up to 50 yards and letting it continue to be a pistol range.
We're looking into turning the 4 Bay into a single or double range at least for the foreseeable future.
Reasoning is this:
The Short Rifle Range when built many years ago was originally to be 50 yards for an Olympic Competition of some sort, but person who built it went ahead and took it out to 75 yards so rifle could use it also
when competition was over. Bringing it up to 50 yards and possible increasing the height would provide
a safer range.
Money and free dirt has run short for 4 Bay and the thought process at this point is that we could use
some existing dirt for back berm and concrete to divide as we have on Pistol and Short Rifle Range. It
will be done in such way that it could be a 4 Bay in the future.
Let me emphasize that this is very preliminary, as it came up only a few hours ago, but I wanted to be able to get it in the
Hangfire.
Looking forward to everyone's input!
Please contact me if you've any concerns or suggestions!

Treasurer Corner
Just a brief update this month. Jamie has posted the financial information for May and June to the web under the Hangfire link. If
you have questions or need a copy please send me an email and I will email a PDF of the information. You can also just download
a copy from the web site. The cost of the Hangfire for July was $433.00 for printing and mailing compared to $744.00 last month.
So going all black and reducing the size of the font to save pages helped. We might need to move other things to the web site.
I paid our insurance and it was around $15,500.00 for August 1, 2015 to July 1, 2016. We will have another $1,100.00 insurance
for the officers’ policy that will be due at the first of September.
I am working on the budget so if anyone has anything that should be added please let me know.
I will be accepting credit cards at the August general meeting to pay for membership dues. Please download and have forms filled
out before coming to the meeting. Ronny will check all forms and will sign off for the amount that is due. I will not be at the meeting until 7:15 pm.
At this time it appears that there will be very little money left from 2015 to use in 2016. We are going to just try to keep our range
as nice as it is now for 2016, but might not have any major projects until we build our savings back up which could be 2017 or
2018.
We also need to finish a lot of small projects at the range that have been ongoing for 3 or 4 years. Lights on skeet range 1, electricity to conex R, berm repair, leveling and securing all conexes are just some of things that should be finished. We have a fence
project that has been delayed due to the rain. We need to repaint and redo the safety signs on each range. So there are over 50
to 100 projects on the range that need to be finished. If one person would volunteer to head up a project and find members to help
them we could take care of many of these small projects. The officers nor the maintenance director have the time to work on all the
projects. Maybe we could make a new forum that is for projects. The member that takes the project on would post the project and
what is needed to complete it and set dates. If we need material the member can post a list of materials needed and see if we can
get donations. The member can also email the board and ask that supplies be purchased. I will ask at the next board meeting that
Bill and the officers make a complete list of things that need finished, repaired, or installed that can be published in the Hangfire so
members can volunteer and take on a project. Let’s make this the best place to relax and have fun making things go bang.

Military Bolt Action BenchRest
Match Director: Steve Vannoy
13 June 2015
RSO: Tony Lawson
A fine day for a match. And we had some guests and first time MBABR shooters from Kentucky; Cody and Brian Lawson. Tony Lawson’s nephews. Those two drove all the way here just for the match.
They just had to see which brother was the better shooter. I think $10 was riding on the outcome. Not
sure if the bet was settled up though.
Our next match will be 0800 on August 8. Contact Steve to be placed on the roster.

It has a 1909 build date and the rifle has
not been cut down.
Marked bore of 6.51 on disc (for what that’s

Please help with the cardboard. Flatten all boxes, it only takes a few seconds.
Brass / Shell Cases
Do you reload your brass? If you don’t, rather than trash it, recycle it for those who do! Place your used
brass from the day’s outing that you collected from the range and put into the gray barrels.
Collected and Sorted Brass Casings will be sold at the TCGC General Meetings.
All funds collected from the sale of brass goes directly back into club projects!!
