We will be responsible to each other and God by being open, welcoming, compassionate to each other as God
loves us, and doing everything we can to become a united Community.
Pope Francis has emphasized this as recently as

church to embrace Catholics who have divorced and
remarried, saying that such couples “are not excommunicated, and they absolutely must not be treated
that way!” He added, “They always belong to the
church,” calling on pastors to welcome Catholics who

The bride and groom were seated with a look of
expectation and that glow of joy that I often see at
Catholic weddings. This had nothing to do with the

blowing into the flame of the Unity Candle… nor the
other surprises that would mark this day.

Senora de Loreto Concho is the first Jesuit mission
founded in Baja California in 1697 and the beginning of
the El Camino Real. For the more into Alta California,
Serra was in the company of Gaspar de Portola, the military Governor of California.
