OLYMPIC DREAMS
It’s truly inspirational to be part of the Australian equestrian
community in this Olympic year.
What a wonderful achievement it was for our eventers to win
the team silver medal, and then beaten only in a nail-biting
finish that could so easily have given us the gold. They took
it right down to the wire, and they did us proud, continuing
our amazing tradition in the eventing world and leaving us a
nation to be feared.
The dressage - there is no end to the potential of our
riders here. We have the talent and we have the horsepower
to push on towards the medals - we achieved our highest-ever
placing with 8th in the teams, and with just 2% in total
between 6th and 8th place, we’re closing in on the top riders
all the time. There is no doubting that the breeding we have
here in Australia is simply equal to anywhere in the world, and
our time is coming!
The showjumping? Three Aussies in the top 25 and age is no
barrier. Never give up, there’s Laurie Lever in there debuting
at 60 years of age, achieving his Olympic dream, proving
that anything is possible for the Aussie battler that will never
say die.
And here at home, at Auction of the Stars, we are building
the foundations for future Olympic dreams by bringing you a
simply incredible collection of horses bound to help you on
your path to success, in whatever field that may be and to
whatever level you wish to achieve.
We can offer you a youngster with incredible potential, the
kind of horse that you would never have thought it possible
to find inside the boundaries of our country, but now you can
… a schoolmaster to start talented juniors on the right path to
excel at those higher levels … a jumping machine to
propel you into the Olympic arena or around the crosscountry course … a broodmare to open the door to a future
top-quality partner in your ambitions.
There is no limit to what Australia can do, and no limit to your
own visions. We are here to help in every way, with vendor
finance available on many lots to make sure it happens for
you.
Ladies and gentlemen, we wish you every success in your
bidding here today.
Ann-Maree and Heath

Black Grand Prix stallion 16.3hh 1996
Regardez Moi is one of the most exciting Grand Prix horses in Australia
at the moment, winning the championship for the best performance
throughout the East Coast series of CDI-Ws in Victoria, NSW and Qld
2007 - his first season at Grand Prix, and he was scoring over 70%!!
Regardez Moi has already made what we think is Australian history
by scoring a perfect “10” for his piaffe. You have seen him coming
- after all, Regardez Moi was Australian national medium dressage
champion in 2004, blasting through the ranks to FEI wins of up to a
tremendous 74%, NSW 2005 State FEI small tour horse of the year
and winner of one of only two gold medals awarded by Dressage NSW
for three performances over 70% Now, Regardez Moi is a legend in
the making and we feel he won’t just be an Australian legend, but one
that is honoured the world over. His sire Rubinstein is clearly one of
the world’s leading sires of Grand Prix dressage horses while his dam
is equally brilliantly bred, by Consul out of a mare by all-time dressage
great, Donnerhall. Regardez Moi has a brilliant extended trot and an
exceptional ability to collect and dance in piaffe and passage. His first
progeny are outstanding, now scoring more than 80% in the arena.

Palomino stallion 17hh 2004
Byalee Briar is an amazing opportunity to acquire a highly
sought-after European pedigree - Bjorsells Briar 899 was the world’s
number one dressage breeding stallion for five consecutive yeas!
Now rider Jan Brink has chosen the Briar son Biggles as his next
international GP horse. Briar 899 has won numerous international
medals. He has eight different breed society approvals, and has
sired no less than five approved sons with two winning Sweden’s
national stallion tests scoring 10s for rideability and gaits. He is
famous for a quote from Olympian Kyra Kyrkland, who said: “I would
give my soul for this horse.” On the dam line, Byalee Briar is out of a
Bernstein mare. Bernstein is a Swedish warmblood stallion, sire of
many approved stallions, again with a pedigree that has proved itself
in the ranks of Grand Prix in Europe and the US. Bernstein also sired
Madonna, the winner of the national Swedish finals for four-year-olds,
and won the Breeders’ Trophy for 5- and 6-year olds. He was himself
stallion of the year in dressage in Sweden in 2001. Together these
bloodlines have now produced what we expect to be one of the most
exciting young stallions to be brought into Australia. Byalee Briar has
a soft, regular trot, he has inherited Briar’s incredible uphill canter
with strong shoulder and knee action, and shows that ever-essential
correct walk. As a bonus, Byalee Briar is a palomino, with the colour
dating back eight generations of Swedish warmbloods.

Metallic is one of the newest members of the AEA Team

cadenced trot with not only rare knee action but also an extremely
active hind leg. His canter is out of this world, huge and big off the
ground, again with elevated front leg action. His walk has a big,
impressive overtrack. Metallic is genetically performance-bred: Metal
is by the Dutch black pearl Olympic Ferro, winner of three Olympic
silver team medals including Sydney 2000! Metall’s dam is by Ramiro
Z, producer of international dressage and jumping horses. Metallic’s
part in Equitana 2005’s Anky van Grunsven masterclass saw jawdropping expressions in the crowd. Metallic has competed in his first
competition in Australia, placing 7th at DWTS 2005 - the only horse in
the 5yos’ first round to score 8 for walk. Metallic’s service fees are being

Bay FEI stallion 16.3hh 1996
Jive Magic is almost impossible to beat at PSG and Inter I,
scoring well into the 70% range and the most successful champion at
Sydney CDI and Qld CDI 2007. He has been overshadowed by his
younger full brother Chatham Park Jac with Olympic rider Rachel
Sanna in the saddle, but his time is coming! Jac has been described by
international judges as being of the highest quality you could hope
to see, anywhere in the world. He was in fact one of the youngest
competitors at the World Equestrian Games at Aachen, at just eight
years old! Patience is a virtue and Jive Magic is worth waiting for!
As a mare owner, this stallion must offer one of the most explosive
collections ever in Australia of dressage genetics. He is about to
perform on the international stage and his talent is obviously very
inheritable. You don’t even need to be astute to see this coming!
What a top line! Jazz - Grand Prix star, member of the Dutch WEG
Team. Cocktail - Grand Prix dressage star with Anky Van Grunsven.
Purioso - sire of Olympic dressage and jumping horses! His dam is by
Fruhling, a son of Landadel, who has sired World Cup finalists in
both showjumping and dressage and out of a mare by one of the
world’s great Grand Prix dressage competitors, Aktion. His progeny

Byalee Romance is an exciting young stallion by Regardez Moi, who is
knocking ‘em dead in the GP arena. Already, from limited outings,
Romance is following in his father’s footsteps with official preliminary
championships and scores of up to 78%, as well as his first Horse
of the Year title. Mixed with Romance’s outstanding Rubinstein and
Donnerhall pedigree is Lanthan (dec), a black 16.2hh stallion
(German, imp). Lanthan sires beautiful, elegant, modern warmbloods
renowned for their temperaments and talent in both dressage and
show jumping. Romance marks the dawning of a new age in dressage.
He has an even, regular walk. The trot has Grand Prix written all over
it. It has a wonderful regularity and a soft and strong swing through the
back that makes him a delight to ride – indicating that, like his dad, he
is going to have international standard piaffe and passage. The canter
right from the day he was born had magical talent – what would be
collected for any other horse is something Romance can do on a loose
rein, with great expression. He has a natural suppleness and flexibility.
Mentally, Romance is very stable, very aware and a great thinker, able
to receive sophisticated information and react without stress. Romance
is a beautiful and obviously upstanding individual – and incredibly
exciting. Available live or chilled (LFG). Frozen semen by

Primarily being schooled by Heath and showing signs of being
talented in the collected work, Jindi has not really been offered for
sale or advertised and is only just now being schooled at a level
where people can come and look at him. He also does show signs
of spectacular extensions. Jindi is by Jive Magic and out of Sandy,
who was bitten by a snake and died before having this season’s
foal, which was a great shame. Jindi was her first foal at 3 years
of age. To carry on the line, we have Rondelle who is also out of
Sandy and by Regardez Moi. Sandy was by the great Salute, who
was the sire of Stirling Stilton (highest scoring Australian Grand Prix
dressage horse at the World Equestrian Games 2002 in Jerez), DP
Christopher (NSW Grand Prix Dressage Champion), GV Stirling
Sioux (ridden by Olympian Olivia Bunn to 4 star level), Staccato
(4 star, 3 day eventer with Craig Barrett and in 2006 was ranked
No 1 eventing stallion in the World) and the list goes on. Sandy
was out of a mare called TEC Mandy, who bred one foal only and
continued as a successful eventer and dressage horse, with fabulous piaffe,
passage and changes. Mandy was sold to China for the Beijing
Olympics. Jindi will be no surprise if he becomes an international

Dressage, Jaybee Archer and Jaybee Anzac, just to name a few. The dam,
Stirling Coriander, is by the imported Holsteiner Lander, who produced
many successful Australian performance horses. Stirling Coriander
has been a very successful broodmare for John and Bev Edwards and
their Jaybee Stud in Queensland. Kit has three attractive paces with an
exceptional attitude to work. His walk is clear, showing regularity and
overtrack. His trot has good rhythm and swing and the canter is well
balanced and a nice springing pace. Kit has competed successfully with
both Dirk and Stephanie Dijkstra in both medium and advanced level
dressage. In his training he has now progressed to flying changes every
second stride and he has a great, well-balanced passage and is
already showing exceptional talent for piaffe, which is possibly the
most difficult Grand Prix movement. We have high expectations of Kit
and are confident he will be competing at FEI level very soon. He is a

Encore is out of Lucano, who is making a name for himself as a great

Jimmy Choo has been extensively handled from birth and has a loveable,
laidback nature. Always there to greet you over the stable door, Jimmy is
the type of horse you can’t help but form a long-lasting partnership with.
This lovely, compact individual has beautifully elevated paces and was
passaging at just one day old! As the first foal out of Aurum Park
Pepeliashka (Princess), we believe Jimmy is the sign of things to come.
Princess is by Prince Noir and out of Mary Poppins, a Walt Disney mare.
Walt Disney is half-brother to Weltmeyer, a massive name in the dressage
breeding industry, whilst Prince Noir has also had international success
in FEI dressage - with good looks and near-perfect conformation.
Princess is a lightly framed warmblood, which will make Jimmy hugely
compatible with a lady rider or young rider looking to take on the best.
All of these amazing bloodlines from Princess, matched with sire Jive
Magic’s breathtaking piaffe, passage and beautiful temperament,
are sure to help Jimmy Choo R and his rider set the dressage arena

Catango’s New Moon (known as Cat in the stable) is a beautiful type
and a great athlete. Her sire line descends from the great Cor De La
Bryere, (in fact features a double cross) and also includes blood from
influential names such as Consul, Matador, Capitano and Alme Z. Her
dam line features the influential sires Wunder, and Voltaire and super
mare Poesi - proven producers of high quality dressage and showjump
horses. It is obvious that this amazing breeding is showing through in
Cat. On the flat, she has good shoulder-in, half-pass and mediums,
with flying changes and canter pirouettes in the embryonic stages. At
limited outings to dressage shows, she has excelled - with consistently
high scores up to 76%! Over fences she has a classical bascule and
great technique. She has attended a few local showjump days, where
she consistently jumps clear rounds. In one 90cm class, she placed
5th against 50 other horses! Cat has begun schooling cross-country
ditches, apexes, arrowheads and water jumps and is looking for a
dedicated partner to take her to great heights. A serious horse for a
