THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER
April 14, 2013
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, wisdom and
strength, honor and glory and blessing.” Revelation 5:12
—
PASTOR REFLECTION
M I N I S T R Y S U N D AY
These Sundays after Easter are remarkable opportunities for us to deepen our faith in the Risen Lord and
to proclaim Him through lives of faith. Our readings
today are filled with wonderful things; the Risen Lord
having breakfast with His Apostles; Peter being forgiven by the Lord for Peter’s earlier denial of the
Lord; the apostles’ witness to the Risen Lord in the
face of persecution and humiliation; and finally, the
heavenly liturgy of honor and praise of Christ, worthy
Lamb that was slain.
Each one of these examples offers us new insights
and chances for us to grow in our love of Jesus and
our gratitude for His wonderful gifts to us. Like the
Apostles, we recognize the Risen Lord among us.
Sometimes, it takes a little time (and perhaps a little
prodding), but we recognize Him in our midst. Once
that connection is made, we have no doubt that “It is
the Lord!”
With Simon Peter showing us the way, we “jump into
the sea” to get to the Lord and to meet Him once
again. This enthusiasm, this love is
what leads us to a deeper faith and
trust in the Risen Christ. Once we
have seen Him, once we have recognized Him, once we have answered
His questions: “Do you love me…?”
then we are ready to respond to His
invitation: “Follow me.”

A Message from Fr. John Bosco Prasit Kruesuwan, C.Ss.R.
In the past 5 years that I have been here, whenever a priest from here had to move for a new
assignment, some people would approach me and say “Oh Father we are so sorry to hear you’re
leaving”. Then I would say “No, it’s not me!” Now, "Tempus Fugit" - The time has come. On May
18th, I am going to leave the Parish and head back to Thailand. It is another transition in my
priestly life. As we always say, God is full of surprises and we always allow God to surprise us
because we truly know that God is faithful. One of God’s surprises for me is giving me the ministry with the Lahu and Laotians Communities here in the Diocese of Fresno. I realized from the
beginning that this was not an easy mission. Sometimes I would ask myself, ‘are you sure what
you are doing?’ And I learned to walk by faith, not always by sight.
In the 5 years that I served the people in the Catholic Church of Visalia, I have learned so many things from you and
your stories and experiences helped me to grow as a priest and as a person. ‘THANK YOU VERY MUCH’ for the
wonderful times and stories you have shared with me. These memories would always remain in my heart forever.
I would like to give my heartfelt appreciation and special gratitude to Msgr. Raymond Drilling, our pastor, for all his
support, friendship and fraternal love. Thank you also to my brother priests, deacons, the parish administration and
the staff. You have supported me and trained me to love and serve the people in the parish more effectively. “Thank
you” also to my prophetic, priestly and kingly family, the wonderful people of God for allowing me to be a part of your
lives and your families, and for allowing me to share with you a great time, even though it was a brief period of time.
And above all, I thank the merciful, loving and good God who made all of this possible. These five fruitful years will
be cherished by me and are years never to be forgotten.
Thank you for your encouragement, your gifts, cards, and best wishes. I ask for your continuous support and prayers as I take a new role and responsibilities as assistant to the rector of the Redemptorists’ Major Seminary in Bangkok, Thailand. I will pray for you and I will surely miss you! Please remember and pray for me every time you celebrate the Eucharist as I will always do. Finally, as we continue to celebrate Easter, I would like to remind you that
God showed us how much He loves the world. He showed us that we can count on Him and there is nothing He
won’t give us, not even His own very dear Son. We need to be grateful for this in our life. No matter what will happen
in our lives, we shouldn’t turn away from His love and help. Remember that life is beautiful because life is from God.
Life never puts you down, never makes our lives miserable! It’s only the way we look at our life that can put us down
and miserable. Don’t leave the Church. Be faithful and trust God! ALL WILL BE WELL!!!
God bless each one of you. God bless America.
