Assisted Living News by Lorinda Harless, Activities Director Well, there was so much happening in April with our Easter Egg Hunt, Spotlight Dinner, Bingo, Sweet Treat Socials, Outings and all the amazing music. May will be just as exciting if not more... There will still be lots of amazing music, along with some exciting events. Tuesday the 5th is a Cinco de Mayo celebration, followed by a festive dinner. Sunday the 10th is Mother’s Day, and we will be having Tea at Two, a celebration of moms with tea and refreshments, along with a pretty hat contest and beautiful music. Friday the 15th we will be celebrating our residents who served in the Armed Forces and our men and women who are now serving. Thursday the 21st will be the grand opening of the Cranberry Room with cocktails from 2 to 4 p.m. and a Spotlight Dinner to follow. There is much more happening this month with endless rides, Lunch Bunch trips and other fun trips. Rite Aid’s Wellness Ambassador came to visit to inform all the residents of their health programs, such as shots and the importance of getting them. She also told of the Wellness Program that gives anyone over 65 a 20% discount on items in the pharmacy, with some exclusions, such as prescriptions, alcohol and tobacco. Thank you for the wonderful performance by the Belles & Beaux as they sang “Going to the Chapel”—they added the flowers to make it official. The residents always love the fun they bring and the social time afterwards. Lori shared the beautiful Easter bouquet sent to her by her family; she made us feel like we all got one. Activities Hello, everyone! Another month has come and gone. April was such a fun month. We had a wonderful Easter egg hunt and, of course, one egg is still missing. Oh well, what would Easter be without a missing egg?! May has lots of fun and exciting things to do. We have Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and Cinco de Mayo—all are fun days to celebrate. Please feel free to come join us. As always, thank you for all that you do to help us help your loved ones. I would like to get your opinion about a phrase I thought of: When you forget, we remember. Let me know what you think. Billie Green MC Activities Director Paula with her Easter Bunny ears on during the Easter egg hunt. She was a Golden Egg winner... Manager’s Corner Welcome, everyone, to the month of May!! The flowers are all in bloom, with wonderful colors and fragrances in the air. We had a great time in April with our Music and Memory event. We are very excited to start this great program in our community. Our Memory Care is well under way with our remodel, and it is coming along nicely. As always, feel free to come join us for any events or activities that we are doing here at the community. Thank you for all your support.
