New Year’s Eve Party - Dec. 31st will be our annual New Year’s Party. Starting at 9pm, Red Hotts will provide the music. Reserve your tables today before we fill up. Family Night for January will benefit the McPherson Arts Council Choir. For just $5, you get a full meal of Hamburger, Freedom Fries, Drink, and Dessert and help the Arts Council achieve their fund raising goals. Serving starts at 5:00pm thru 6:30pm. To-Go boxes are available if you have other activities to attend. Work day @ the Legion - We have made the first Saturday of every month a work day. We start at 8am. However this month we’ll be working on the 2nd Saturday (9th) to avoid the New Year Holiday. Only work for about 1 hour or so depending on the projects. Please come up and help if you can. Walk of Honor - Pavers bricks are still for sale. Pick up an order form in the Lounge or in the info box attached to the building beside the Walk of Honor. Any Veteran’s name can be put on a Paver. I have been asked if only Members of Post 24 are eligible which is not the case. Any Veteran that has served our country can have a Paver Brick in their honor. North Side Building Mural Project - The Mural itself is complete and the mounting materials are ready to go. We are experiencing some difficulties with scheduling the crews necessary to install the Mural. Rest assured we are working diligently to get this project completed as soon as possible. The distribution of toys from Toys for Kids was a wonderful time for all that helped in the toy selection and gift wrapping process. I want to thank everyone that helped. Our next meeting isn’t until March so please watch your emails for anything that may require our attention between now and then. Sons of American Legion David Redger, SAL Commander Mid-Winter Forum is coming up on February 6th. The SAL meeting will be at the Holiday Inn Express at 10:00am. Please see Vail or myself for more information if you would like to attend. There is a lot of useful information that is presented at Mid-Winter Forum and well worth attending for those wishing to learn more about the SAL. Membership: Thank you to those who have paid your dues and for those who have not, please remit your dues as soon as possible. Next Meeting - Jan. 19th at 7:30 pm. Legion Rider Rumbles Jeff Peterson, Director Next Meeting - Jan. 24th at 1:00 pm. in the Post Lounge. This meeting will mainly deal with election of officers for the coming year. Your 2016 dues must be paid up for you to qualify to vote for officer positions. Remember, we must have proof of motorcycle ownership, proof of insurance, and valid Motorcycle license or be a spouse of a member that meets these requirements when applying for or renewing membership. It goes without saying that your LEG, AUX, or SAL membership must also be current.
