Open Arms Home Repair Ministry (OAHRM) is an outreach program designed to raise the standard of living for those who have an established relationship with Open Arms Ministries. Individuals who are served through this ministry often have leaking roofs, plumbing, electrical, heating and structural issues in their homes or pest control problems. The goal of this ministry is to respond to as many of these situations as possible. There are three ways in which you can participate and support this program. First, and most importantly, is prayer. Please remember this ministry in your daily prayers. Secondly, financial donations are needed to purchase materials for the various projects. All of your donation will go toward the purchase of construction materials. Checks should be made out to Open Arms with a designation in the memo line for “Home Repair Ministry”. Store credits and merchandise cards are also welcome. Please mail to 437 East Sprague Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. Thirdly, the work cannot be accomplished without volunteers. Projects are tailored to meet the skill sets of volunteers. You must be 18 years of age to volunteer in order to comply with safety regulations regarding construction sites. There are two building seasons; spring (March and April) and fall (September and October). All work is carried out on Saturday and Sunday and is designed to be completed within this time frame. OAHRM is currently screening repair applicants for spring 2011. Volunteers can make a tangible difference in the life of a disadvantaged member of our community. If you are interested in being the hands of Christ, contact Skip Morris at skipmorris@excite.com or call (336) 341-6359. Skip is also available for speaking engagements for any local church or civic groups. God be close to you, Bill **** Prodigals Community is a Christian based program for substance abuse where lives are transformed and hope is restored. Volunteer assistance is needed for meals, maintenance and renovations. Financial contributions are also welcome. For more information and ways you or your group can help, contact Rev. Dr. Patty Suggs at (336) 918-2974. 3 LOCAL EVENTS AND INFORMATION • Dr. Thomas G.
