I am delighted that she is being recognized for her very dedicated service to Holy Apostles over the past 23 years as well as her service in her home parish of Our Lady of Mercy in East Greenwich. Over the years she has also taught in Catholic School, assisted a number of other parishes and has served on several diocesan religious education committees. This is a well-deserved honor that will be formally presented by Bishop Tobin at the Lumen Gentium Award Dinner at the Twin River Event Facility in Lincoln on May 18th. Another well-deserved award goes to Mark Colozzi who has been chosen as one of the recipients of the “Companions on the Journey Award”. This award is the highest adult recognition from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry and is presented by our Diocese. He will receive the award from Bishop Tobin at the Catholic Youth Ministry and Scout awards Celebration on Sunday, March 13th at the Cathedral in Providence. At that same ceremony, Brendan Dillon and Abby Shideler, both high school students of our parish will receive the “St. Timothy Award” which is the highest national Catholic award given to youth. In addition, several of our parish Boy Scouts will also receive awards on March 13th. Anthony Cardi, Daniel White and Keevan Winters will receive the Pope Pius XII Award and Jonas Kendra will receive the Ad Altare Dei Award. I am sure that you will join me in congratulating all our award winners. It is certainly a reminder that Holy Apostles Parish is blessed with many very talented and dedicated staff members and parishioners!! ADULT ED. In addition to offering personal and public prayers, especially the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the church also uses a Necrology. A Necrology is a listing of those who have died within a certain period of time. This Necrology should be an opportunity to remember those who by the giving of their time, talent, and treasure helped to make Holy Apostles what it is today.
