From the Bash Event Manager
We recently held our Inaugural Bash Auction on Saturday 29
May. The day had been advertised in several publications
and went out to both Variety and Martin Evans Auctions
databases. For the amount of people that came along we
were very happy with the result and will plan for a bigger
and better day next year. I would like to take this
opportunity to thank Martin ‘Jafa’ Evans for his assistance
with planning and running the day and a big thank you to
the Bashers who assisted us, and to those who came along
and supported the day or donated items.
In the coming weeks you will be receiving lots of updates from the office as the 2010 Bash
draws closer. Expect to see Bash Merchandise forms which will feature souvenir 20th
Anniversary items, final accommodation details, meal ticket prices, special functions and
entertainment on the Bash. These updates will be sent to all Crew Captains when they are
finalised and I ask that you appreciate that they will be forwarded to you as soon as possible.
The last page of this month’s newsletter contains information regarding travel to Margaret
River from Perth for those who have family flying in to join us at the conclusion of the Bash
and details for CEVA Logistics for transporting your car home.
Hope to see you Wednesday night!

From the Bash Event Coordinator
First of all, I’d like to say a big thank you once again to everyone who has given me kind
words and advice in my first few months as the Bash Coordinator. It’s a busy time to
have stepped into the role, and I really appreciate the advice and understanding that
many of you have offered me. I’m really excited to be working on such a unique event
and am looking forward to my first Bash.
I know how much everyone loves forms (!), and everyone who has entered in this year’s
event should now have received their information pack including their accommodation
and crew forms. The deadline for getting these forms back to us is Tuesday 1st June. If
you have any issues with meeting this date please let us know. And if you haven’t yet
entered but are intending to, please do so ASAP so that we can get this information out
to you. Well done also to Pam who noticed the mistake in the information pack on your
financial update letter. The correction is Silver $15,000+ and Bronze $10,000+.
This year’s raffle tickets will be allocated at the pub night on 2nd June. Anyone that
cannot attend the pub night will be sent their allocation by post at the end of next week.
There are some fantastic prizes, and the raffle is a great opportunity to include family,
friends and colleagues in the work of Variety.
And finally, don’t forget about “Donations Online”. You can direct sponsors and
supporters to donate to your Bash car directly via our website. Simply log onto
www.varietyvic.org.au , select Bash 2010 located under Motoring Events, and select
“Donate to a Bash car here” and follow the prompts. You do not need to notify Variety of
this donation as the response is sent directly to us.
