After a decade of planning and securing the proper permits, the Biffis family celebrated the ribbon cutting of their new Treetops development in Alliston, at the southeast corner of Highway 89 and 10 Sideroad. Sales staff at the development started meeting with interested homeowners who registered to have a first look at the community Saturday (June 16). Construction of the subdivision will unfold in phases, with the first stage including 201
homes. Once completed the 1,800-home development will span 373 acres and include green space, trails, two off-leash dog parks, an amphitheatre,
splash pad, beach volleyball courts and more. For a map of the development and the house designs, visit www.thetreetops.ca.

Cell Tower Update
A cell tower application for Sideroad 15 has
finished the town’s telecommunication tower
protocol process.
The Wind Mobile proposal is for a 61-metre
freestanding tower at 4886 Sideroad 15, just
south of Highway 89. A public information
meeting was held at the Nottawasaga Inn in May
and the 21-day comment period has ended. According to a town report, no comments were received.
Town staff will be sending a letter to Industry
Canada saying Wind Mobile has completed all
components of the town’s protocol for the new
tower.
be done within the department.
Treetops Model Homes
Now that the ribbon has been cut to mark the
start of business at the Treetops sales centre in
Alliston, the developer is looking to build four
model homes.
The new subdivision is at the corner of Highway 89 and 10 Sideroad, east of Alliston’s urban
area. The first phase of development will see
200 new homes built, starting at the 14th Line
and moving north towards Highway 89. Once
complete, the entire 1,868-home Treetops development will span 373 acres.
Cleaning Headstones
Funding could be on the way to help clean
and maintain headstones in New Tecumseth
cemeteries.
Cemetery Advisory Board member Coun.
Bruce Haire said they’re looking for $500 to
start a headstone-cleaning program at the town’s
abandoned cemeteries. Parks, Recreation and
Culture Manager Ray Osmond said the cost is
about $30 per headstone. Some of the work can
