BURN PERMITS (Open Air Burning By-Law
#2006-097)
A reminder that no person shall set an
outdoor fire or permit a fire to burn without
first having obtained the necessary fire permit.
Permits are issued for a period of 30 days at a
cost of $12.50. Failure to conduct the burn in
accordance with the By-Law may result in a $2,000 fine
plus fire extinguishing costs.

Burn Permits are available at the Joint Operations
Centre, Beeton and the Administration Centre, Alliston.

CALCULATION OF BILL:
The amount of the Interim Bill, where applicable, has
been deducted from the Final Bill. A supplementary tax
bill will be issued if the building you occupy was recently
constructed, altered or occupied.
A listing of tax rates for all assessment classes is
available at the Tax Department or via the internet at
www.newtecumseth.ca.
The 2014 property tax on any property is calculated by
multiplying the actual value assessment for that property
times the applicable 2014 tax rate for that assessment
class. The tax rate is expressed as a percentage and is
the sum of the municipal, county, and education tax
rates.

Penalties:
A penalty of 1.25% on any unpaid amount will be added on the
first day after the due date and on the first day of each month
thereafter until paid. The Treasurer has no authority to
waive or alter the penalty for any reason.

Payments mailed must be received by the due date to avoid
penalty charges.(Postal date has no bearing on date of
payment, therefore please ensure ample time is allowed for
payment to reach the Municipal Office on or before the due
date)

company (bank, trust company), please forward the bill to the

company must notify the Tax Department if they wish to receive

ASSESSMENT INQUIRIES/APPEALS: Inquiries or appeals
regarding your assessment should be directed to the Assessment
Office, L4N 5R7, or by calling 1-866-296-6722. It is the responsibility of the ratepayer to notify the Assessment Office of a change
in classification status for an adjustment in realty taxes. School
support indicated on your tax bill cannot be changed for 2014,
