The Graveyard Renewal Group won a Gold Award for St. Nicholas’, in Northumbria in Bloom AGAIN! The Memory Tree After Sunday’s Memorial Service, £206 was raised for the Motor Neurone Research Centre. Hopefully there are still more donations to come. SAMARITAN’S PURSE (Christmas Shoebox ) In 2013 , 4,435 shoeboxes were sent from this area to Albania, and in 2014, £900 from the Lent Lunches was sent to the Samaritan’s Purse. Once again I am asking you to support the appeal by donating any item from the following list. Clothing: e.g. hat, scarf, gloves/ mitts. Toiletries: e.g. soap, toothpaste/brush, comb, face cloth. (Please no liquids) Toys: e.g. balls, skipping ropes, doll, car, stuffed toy (Must have CE labels & must be small enough to fit in box and no planes, soldiers or knives.) A box will be at the back of church from Friday 10th. October until Monday 24th. November to receive your gifts. Stephen Hewitt is retiring on 7th. December 2014, there will be a Parish Farewell Service at 10am, followed by a ‘Bring & Share’ meal. Everyone welcome Winter Fayre 29th November - Winter Fayre including Heavenly Delights Cafe in church and parish centre. Come along and enjoy your lunch and also browse around the stalls, lots of goodies, crafts, home made produce, cards, jewellery etc for your Christmas presents. 10.00am - 2.00pm. NO CHILD TAKEN Glenys Buxton is speaking at both the 8am and 10am services on Sunday 16th November on behalf of Tearfund. The topic is "No Child Taken." The clergy have agreed that there will be an offering bowl at the back of church on 16th and 23rd November for anyone who would like to make a donation to Tearfund's work.
