FEAST OF ST. JOSEPH
Thursday, March 19, is the Feast of St. Joseph. There
will be a special Mass at 5:30 p.m., which begins our
parish’s Forty Hours. Because the Feast of St. Joseph is
a Solemnity, all are excused from their Lenten penances.
COMMUNAL PENANCE SERVICE
This Sunday, March 15th, there will
be a communal penance service at St.
Paul at 2:30 p.m. and West Point at
4:00 p.m. Don’t forget Fr. Mike Phillips will be hearing confessions during
the March 19 - 22 Forty Hours.
.
EVENT PROCEEDS
Holy Family Parish has received $5,594.88 for the proceeds of the “Night on the Town”. The proceeds will go
towards helping defray the winter heating bills of Holy
Family Parish properties.
K of C WINTER STAG
The K of C annual stag is this Monday, March
16th. Doors open at 6:00 PM with appetizers at 7:00 and
BBQ dinner to follow. Auction and raffle after dinner. Everyone welcome. Tickets are $7.00 and are available at the hall or the night of the event.
EASTER FLOWERS/DECORATIONS
Anyone interested in making a donation in honor of or
in memory of a deceased loved one is asked to put the
money in an envelope, mark it “Easter Flowers”, the name
of the loved one(s) and put it in the collection basket. The
money collected will be used for Easter flowers and/or
decorations for both churches. The names of those remembered will be put in the bulletin after Easter.
Look upon the hour of Eucharistic Adoration assigned to you as an hour in paradise.

YOUTH MINISTRY
At the last After School
Faith Formation Retreat, small
groups of K-6th grade students were read the “Wedding
at Cana” Bible story. Then
the small groups created posters that represented each person. Everyone then had a chance to share what they
wrote and drew on the poster. As in the Bible story, Jesus made wine from water in stone jars. Jesus' concern
was what was in the jars, not what the jars looked like.
THE JUNIOR HIGH RALLY will be held at Regina Catholic Center in Iowa City on Sunday, March
22nd. The theme is "Live Like Jesus Did", LLJD. The
day will have interactive games, learning sessions on
how to serve, pray, worship and talk like Jesus did. This
is a great chance for our 6-8th grade students to meet
other peers from around the diocese. This year in conjunction with the junior high rally, our students will be
involved with several hands on projects. We will be
making fleece blankets for the Ronald McDonald House
children, sending our soldiers that are deployed care
packets and providing cleaning items to food pantries.
This goes along with the theme of the rally and also connects faith with works for our junior high students. A
list of things needed are:
Fleece (for tie blankets);
Crayons (new); Note cards or card stock; Travel-size
personal hygiene items (deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, razors, shaving cream, soap, shampoo,
wash cloths, quart-size and gallon-size ziplock bags);
Rosary-making supplies; Prayer cards; Notebooks; Thank You or Thinking of You greeting
cards; Ribbon; Pet toys. If you secure donations, please
email
Grace

at:
grace.97.edwards@hotmail.com with the subject line of
Rally donations. We need to know no later
than Monday, March 16. Go to davenport diocese.org/

or call Mike at 316-2115.
THE ANNUAL PORKY PIG BINGO will be
held Sunday, March 22nd at St. Boniface in Farmington.
The day will begin with Mass at 10:30 am, dinner
at 11:30 am and bingo to begin at 12:15 pm. The bingo
will help pay for our high school students attending National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis this
November. There will be 20 games of bingo, great food
and a wonderful way to build community.
