Storage
Apple Island Resort offers storage on a first come first serve basis. If available, storage space can be rented for the
season for trailers, boats, or RVs. Storage is provided for free to all Marina Dock & Mooring customers as available.
A completed Storage Agreement or Marina Storage Agreement must be presented to the office prior to taking any trailer
to storage. A Resort staff member will then escort the customer to the storage area to determine space assignment.
As space becomes less available boat trailers (without a boat) will be placed 2 per space. Boat trailers should not be
locked, so Marina or Facilities staff can move the trailers if necessary. Notification will be given.
Please do not drop any vehicle in Storage without PRIOR notification to the Resort Office. If you have an assigned
Marina dock or mooring & you need to deliver your trailer after hours, enter the storage area & drop the trailer in the
open are on the left side between markers 1 to 10. Be sure to leave your Marina Storage Agreement with the Resort
office by dropping it through the door mail slot.
In addition, storage spaces will not be assigned until the day the vehicle/trailer is brought in for storage. There will be no
spaces placed “on hold” as they are first come first serve. Thank you for your cooperation.

Sales News
It is that time of the year again. Our Annual Open House is July 9th from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
I am looking for volunteers to help. If you’re willing to donate a few hours, please give me a
call at (802)372-3866.
I have continued to get a steady stream of visitors who continue to be impressed with our
Resort. I get a lot of comments about how well landscaped everything is and also the
friendliness of our residents. Thank you!
I want to apologize to Gerald Wood and Patience OConnor for a misprint in last month’s newsletter. I listed
their site as EA020 when it is actually HU020. Julia and Roger Morgan actually reside at EA020.
Also, as always don’t forget our referral program. I have information and forms in my office. Please give me a
call or stop by if you have any questions. Please remember, if you are referring someone to the Sales Office,
the Sales Referral Form must be presented by you AND the person you are referring on their initial visit.
Instructions are on the printed form. I have copies in my office if you need one.
Resident Referral Fees for 2016:




$ 500 to resident who refers someone who signs a seasonal lease on a site not currently leased
$1,500 to resident who refers someone who purchases a new cottage
$3,000 to resident who refers someone who purchases a campsite, and
$5,000 is the referral fee if someone purchases a site and cottage

Keep checking the listings as they are updated frequently. Or come see me at the Resort office.

Happenings at the Marina
Another year of great boating at Apple Island Marina is now underway. The marina staff hopes you are
having an enjoyable and safe season on Lake Champlain.
We conducted our second Boat Vermont Boating Safety Course of the season on June 20–23. We had
15 students who all passed the intense 9 hour course. The instructors were Jere Johnson of the
Vermont State Police Marine Division, Kris Teply and Robert White of the Burlington US Coast Guard Auxiliary
(USCGAUX) Flotilla 15-2, and Dean Jennings, Apple Island Marina Manager.
Remember that if you are born after January 1, 1974, to legally operate a motorboat in Vermont, you must have
completed a boater safety class and carry the card with you on the boat. This requirement varies from state to state, so
be sure to check the laws for the states you boat in. Check with the Marina or the Activity Schedule for the schedule of
upcoming classes.
The Lake Champlain International (LCI) Father’s Day Fishing Derby was held June 18 -20. Apple Island Marina
provided space for the weigh station, and our staff relayed tournament results to LCI headquarters. Mariah Kelly of
Randolph, VT, weighed in a 12.87 lb. fish at our station to win the Northern Pike category.
The Marina is open 7 days a week from 9:00am–6:00pm. We have pontoon boats that can be rented for half a day
(9:00am–1:00pm or 1:30pm–5:30pm) or for a full day (9:30am–5:30pm). We also rent rowboats, canoes, kayaks, and
pedal boats by the hour or full day. The boathouse sells last minute essentials, too, such as gas, ice, night crawlers, and
drinks for a day on the lake.
A successful fishing day with Captain Tony…

General Store News
Apple Island General store is seeing lots of residents and campers, and we are so
glad we can serve you. Call ahead at (802)372-3733 for a shorter wait time when
ordering your salads and subs.
We opened early for the LCI Fishing Derby on Father’s Day weekend, and we
served lots of breakfast sandwiches, subs, and beverages. They fueled up for a
successful and fun day of fishing.
We are still looking for seasonal help. If you are interested in working at Apple Island General Store,
please call Brian Ploof, General Store Manager, at (802)655-4022.
We look forward to seeing you!

June has been a very busy month. We started out with our Welcome Back Dessert Party. Residents were
treated to yummy desserts while socializing with friends. Then we enjoyed an Old Fashion Pot Luck Dinner
that was absolutely fabulous. There was such a good variety of food choices and desserts. We had a great
turnout and ended the night by dancing to Eddie & the All Stars.
Our first Open Mike Night was a success. We have some very talented people in the Resort. Join us for the
next Open Mike Night on June 29th from 6pm-8pm.
On June18th, we held our annual Strawberry Festival. Our snack bar was open and extremely busy; we
served Strawberry Shortcake and sold strawberries; the band Rattle My Bones played some great tunes; and
we had vendors and crafters selling their products. Thanks to all of the volunteers who came out to help us
with this event. On Father’s Day, lots of dads were treated to free breakfast. Thank you Volunteers for your
hard work and service.
On June 25th, we held our first Apple Auto Show. For our first show, it was a great success! We had 35 cars
enter our show. Thank you to Shearer Chevy/GMC for sponsoring our event. Everyone attending the event
