6th Sunday of Easter

6th Sunday of Easter
Pastor’s Musings
Last weekend I
received
a
gift
from the students
in
our
parish
Religious Education
program. It was a
book of their drawings and
thoughts of appreciation to me for
the Year for Priests. I had almost
forgotten that this was still the
Year of/for Priests, but it is
interesting to
see ourselves
through the eyes of our young
people.
Here is one of the
drawings from the book.

Pensamientos del pastor
El Domingo pasado recibí un
regado de los estudiantes en
nuestro programa parroquial de
educación religiosa. Era un libro
de sus dibujos y pensamientos,
de agradecimiento para mi en el
‘Año Para Los Sacerdotes.’ Casi
me había olvidado que éste sique
siendo
el
Año
Para
Los
Sacerdotes, pero es interesante
para nosotros ver a través de los
ojos de nuestros jóvenes. Aquí está
uno de los dibujos del libro.

This
weekend
we
celebrate
Trinity Sunday. God is Father,
Son and Holy Spirit. The love of
three persons in one God is so
complete and intense that it
overflows into all creation and
into all of us. God is the Father
Who embraces us; Jesús is the
Son Who is our brother; and the
Holy Spirit is the breath who
enlivens us.
Monday (Memorial Day) May
31st is a holiday to remember
those who have given their lives
in our nation’s military service.
We pray for those who have
served in our nation’s conflicts
and pray that nations may seek
the ways of peace together so
that no more of our young people
need to die in war. Mass will be
celebrated at 9AM in Cambridge.

“Himself
may
think he is the
only one whom
the kids of the
parish
appreciate, but one of the
drawings in the Appreciation Book
was about me. At least, the kids
know who is really important in
this parish!”
parroquia.’
Annual Catholic Appeal 2010:
3 more families have pledged an
additional $600, bringing our
parish total to $21,215.
Thank
you for your generous response.

September
the

will
celebrate
an
important
anniversary! In 1885, after years
of worshiping in the town hall and
the Glasgow house on Hambrooks
Blvd, the first official Catholic
chapel was erected on Gay Street
where the state courthouse is
now located. The Parish and
Family Life Committee will meet
Tuesday, June 1 at 7pm in the
library meeting room to plan an
anniversary celebration to be held
in September.

In recognition of Pope Benedict
XVI declaring this “Year For
Priests”, last Sunday at the
Catechists’ Appreciation Luncheon
Fr. Lawler was presented with a
Book of Appreciation for his years
of dedication to the priesthood.
The students in the Religious
Education Dept. signed the book
with handprints, drawings or
words of thanks to Fr. Lawler. A
good time was had by all who
attended
and
Fr.
Lawler
expressed much appreciation for
his gift.

Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity
In today’s second reading, St.
Paul reminds us that “the love of
God has been poured into our
hearts through the Holy Spirit
that has been given to us.” Each
of the baptized is called to bring
that love to other people; some
are called to do so as priests,
deacons, religious sisters or
religious brothers.
What about
you? If you think God might be
inviting you to serve in one of
these ministries, call or write Fr.
Joe Cocucci, Diocesan Director of
Priestly and Religious Vocations
