overnighter at Camp Towles April
10th and 11th. The teens led the new
campers in games and activities as
well as showed them around the camp
facility, answering their questions

blowing bubbles to folding origami.
A HUGE Thank you goes out to all of the
organizations , businesses, and
individuals who made this fundraiser a
GREAT success for the 4-H program.

Farmers Market Nutrition
Program Vendor Training
Individuals who are interested in becoming a
vendor at the Farmers Market and wish to accept
the Farmers Market Nutrition Program Vouchers
must complete the required training and submit
their application to the WVDA.
Trainings will be held:
 May 7 at 6:30pm
Marion County Extension Office

May 18 at 6:00pm —Taylor County
Location is to be determined.
These vouchers are very popular with senior
customers at farmers markets and are very easy to
accept. Please don’t pass up this opportunity for
training if you plan on attending the markets as a
vendor. Once the vouchers are distributed to the
seniors it is too late to be trained for the year so
you cannot wait to see what they are to decide.
Firewood Processor Demo
There will be a demonstration of a firewood
processor at Marion County 4-H Camp Mar
Mac on Saturday, May 16 at 10am.
A firewood processor is designed to process
high volumes of firewood in a short time
period.
Please assist us in preparing for this event
by contacting the Marion County Extension
Office at 304-367-2772
to RSVP if you plan to
attend.
Grafton Farmers Market Opening
The Grafton Farmers Market
will open on
Wednesday, May 13.
The market will be open on
Wednesdays from 1-6pm
and Saturday mornings from
9am- 1pm.
The market will be held at the
B&O Depot along Main Street.
For additional information contact the Extension
Office. Additional vendors are always welcome.
Regional Grazing
Management Workshop
There will be a regional grazing
management workshop held in the
Belington area on June 27th.
The day will involve demonstrations of
fencing, sprayer and spreader calibrations,
weed identification, grazing management and a
tour of a very well managed rotational grazing
operation.
The program will begin at 9:00 and end
midafternoon. Plans are being made to provide
lunch, hopefully at no cost.
Full details will be included in the June
newsletter.
RSVP will be required.
